Goal queens star in wins for Airbus, Wrexham Foresters, CPD Cei Connah and MIFC

Grace Kehoe struck twice for six-goal Airbus

CENTRAL WALES NORTH LADIES LEAGUE

Airbus UK Broughton 6 Llanidloes Town 0

Grace Kehoe and Tiffany Sands scored two goals apiece as Airbus delivered six of the best in a clinical performance against Llanidloes at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

With 12 goals in her previous five games, Wingmakers wizardess Ffion Jones set the tempo from the off, putting immediate pressure on the away side and setting the standard for the whole team.

It took just 11 minutes for the home team to break the deadlock. Alicia Thomas’ perfect pass was met by the on running Phoebe Roberts, who carried the ball into the box and slotted underneath keeper Myndy Price.

The hosts doubled their lead midway through the half when another fantastic switch of play from Thomas saw Kehoe latch onto the pass and produce a sublime lob over the keeper.

Airbus continued to push, their third arriving via a superb delivery by left‑back Grace Ellison. Her long ball over the top found Kehoe again, who made no mistake to notch her 13th goal of the season,

Moments before the interval, Ellison produced another excellent assist, this time picking out Sands, who weaved past a couple of defenders passing the ball into the bottom corner to make it 4–0 at half‑time.

Llanidloes upped their game after the break, but Airbus maintained their intensity, with the fifth goal arriving halfway through the second half.

Kehoe turned provider this time, with excellent wing play down the left before slipping a neat pass into Sands, who grabbed her second of the match.

The final goal came late on. Courteney Page linked up perfectly with Ffion Jones, who capped the move with a confident strike to complete the 6–0 scoreline and leave the home side in 2nd place, six points off first with a game in hand.

Wrexham Foresters 5 Buckley Town 0

Five first half goals proved more than enough to clinch victory for the leaders – but credit to Buckley for their resilience after the break to restrict the hosts to their lowest league goals total of the season.

Kirstie Kural scored three to boost her season’s tally to 59 goals, while Anna Thomas struck twice to reach 32.

It was Kural’s 13th hat-trick of the season – that includes 11 trebles in 12 league games.

Down to nine players in the second half, Foresters were not as effective in attack, but much of that was down to Buckley’s defensive determination.

Buckley put in a very solid defensive performance after the interval. Holding the free-scoring hosts to a 0–0 second half, while still creating chances of their own, was a real testament to their organisation and resilience.

Welshpool Town 1 Newtown 5

NEWFA WOMEN’S RECREATIONAL CUP

CPD Cei Connah 5 Hawarden Park 4

Stacy Harrison scored a late winner for Cei Connah in a nine-goal thriller.

Captain Leanne Hughes and Harrison put Cei two-up in the first half before a Rebecca Davies double made it two-all at the break.

In an end-to-end second half, Harrison made it 3-2, Davies levelled with her hat-trick goal, but Hughes restored the home lead.

Park was far from finished, Davies bagging her fourth to level it up again.

However, there was one last twist as Hughes set up Harrison for her hat-trick and 35th goal in 12 games.

MIFC 2 Coedpoeth United 0

Lydia Ward (penalty) and Jessica-Lee Wellstead provided the goals which earned victory for Mynydd Isa over a battling Coedpoeth at Argoed.
