Three points on the road made it five wins out of six and a share of second place for the Wingmakers.
On a wet and windy day at KVM Park, Airbus dominated possession throughout but it took until 10 minutes into the second half before they were able to break the deadlock against an energetic defence.
With the wind against them, it took the visitors a while to settle down and find their rhythm with passes too frequently going astray.
Set pieces, a long throw and a few early corners were the main threat from the home side, which Airbus dealt with on each occasion.
Llanidloes keeper Myndy Price had a couple of routine saves to make midway through the first half from Tiffany Sands and Grace Kehoe, but little troubled her. Any through balls were also nullified by the home keeper who was quick to come out of her box and clear.
The away side looked more composed at the start of the second half and with a switch in formation it didn’t take long for them to go in front.
Sands was quick to close down a Llanidloes defender, winning the ball back and instinctively shooting from outside the box. With the keeper’s view partially blocked by the defender, she could only watch on as Sands’ shot rippled the bottom corner of the net.
The goal gave the Wingmakers a spring in their step and just a few minutes later they scored again. A corner whipped in at the near post by Kehoe was volleyed into the net by Keira Owen for her first goal of the season.
With Erin Heath and Ffion Jones coming off the bench and the home side having to chase the match it opened the game up and allowed Airbus to once again dominate possession.
Whilst no further goals were scored it was a much more composed and strong half of football from the Wingmakers, which should give them confidence going into the second half of the season.
