A village based near Denbigh in the Vale of Clwyd, Llandyrnog United are in their 50th anniversary season as a winter league side.
They initially made their name as the dominant force in the Llandyrnog and District Summer Football League, formed in 1927.
The winter league side began operating in 1975-76 in the former Clwyd League.
Between 1992-93 and 2019-20, Llandyrnog campaigned in Tiers 2 and 3 of the Welsh pyramid.
From 2004-05 to 2008-09, they spent five seasons in the Cymru Alliance. For the other 20 seasons, they competed in Welsh Alliance Divisions 1 and 2.
Since 2021-22, United have been a Tier 4 and 5 club. For four seasons, they were part of the North Wales Coast East Premier before being relegated last term to Division One.
They have had an impressive first season at the lower level, culminating in reaching the Junior Cup Final.

Mountain Rangers was formed in the 1920s.
The club’s Cae Gors pitch featured in the cult S4C comedy series C’mon Midffild.
Members of the Gwyrfai League between 1921-22 and 1925-26, they finished champions in their debut season and runners-up twice.
The club later joined the Bangor and District League in 1948-49 and were crowned champions in 1949-50.
The following season, the league changed its name to the Caernarfon & District League to recognise its new geographical focus.
Rangers went on to win the Caernarfon and District title three times – in 1969-70, 1974-75 and 1975-76.
They remained in this league until 1991-92 before moving up to the Gwynedd League in 1992-93, finishing second in their first campaign, a point behind champions Holyhead Town.
Rangers entered a reserve side in the Caernarfon and District for 1992-93, which competed there for the next four seasons.
Under Dave Cavanagh and later John Hayes, Rangers finished runners-up once more in the Gwynedd League before resigning in 1995-96.
Silverware was secured via the Eryri Shield and Gwynedd League Cup double in 1994-95.
Legendary striker Hayes set a league record in 1993-94 of 51 goals in a season. The landmark stood until Llanystumdwy’s Sion Parry broke it in 2014-15 with 56.
The Alves Cup was won by Rangers under the guidance of Elfed “Gyrn Goch” in 1997-98 during their final campaign before folding again..
Although the club was represented in the North Gwynedd and Anglesey Sunday League, Saturday afternoon football did not return to Cae Gors until 2008-09, when Alex Philp and Neil Williams led a team of local youngsters to the Caernarfon and District Division 2 title.
That return was short-lived and it was not until 2019-20 that Mountain Rangers first team was back on the field, finishing Anglesey League runners-up.
The following season was wiped out by Covid and when football returned in 2021-22, Rangers joined the new North Wales Coast West League Division One, where they are now in their fifth season.
