Chirk AAA 2 Coedpoeth United 8

Coedpoeth United gave their goal difference a huge boost with an emphatic win at bottom side Chirk AAA, who had a third consecutive relegation confirmed last weekend.

The win keeps Coedpoeth in 8th place, with a potential to secure a top five finish should their recent form continue.

Two games involving these teams, six days apart, have resulted in six sending offs.

Four were sent for an early bath near the end of last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Wam Memorial Ground, and on Friday night one more from each team received their marching orders at Ponciau Park..

Scott Evans scored the only goal of the game for Corwen on 26 minutes from a Lewis Wills assist.

Kieran Smith was dismissed for the visitors on 64 minutes after receiving two yellow cards and Aelwyd’s Sam Baldam also walked after 88 for two cautions.
