NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE REPORTS – APRIL 8

Division One

CPD Gaerwen 1 Holyhead Town 1

Town claimed a point at Cae Rhosfain to ensure Aberffraw were crowned Division One champions on Wednesday night.
It was a second visit to second-place Gaerwen in five days for the Harbourmen after their 3-1 triumph on Saturday in the Cwpan Menai Tractors.
Holyhead started brightly and nearly grabbed an early goal when a chance came from a scramble in the box but they couldn’t convert.
Craig Moore then went close with a free kick from the edge of the box, which was excellently tipped wide by Gaerwen keeper Harri Owen.
Again, the visitors almost snatched the lead when Declan Jones headed against the bar from a Nik Kontodios corner.
With the game opening up chances started coming for both sides. Moore again forced Owen to produce an outstanding save, tipping his effort on to the post.
With the half coming to a close an effort from range by Declan Jones again brought the best out of Owen.
Gaerwen forced a late corner and the clearance landed to Kieran Williams whose shot found its way into the net to give the Auctioneers a lead at half time.
Gaerwen got the second half underway and drew a free-kick which hit the bar twice before been claimed by Steff Parry.
The hosts almost extended their lead but Parry produced a reaction save to keep it at 1-0.
Town did draw level when an Aneurin Saunderson cross was cleared to Lewis Heywood who drove through the defence and cut the ball back to Moore, who finished from close range.
With tired legs coming in to play, Holyhead stood strong to take a point after late pressure from Gaerwen.

CPD Deiniolen 5 Bethesda Rovers 3

An eight-goal cracker at Cae Bwthyn, with Deiniolen coming out on top thanks to goals from Sion Foulkes (2), Cian Pleming, skipper Steve Price and a Kieron Bullock own goal.
Rovers stayed in contention through replies from Dafydd Williams, Joshua Pritchard and Scott Hughes.

Llanfairpwll 1 CPD Cefni 1

Tyler Mapp’s 11th goal of the season handed Cefni a 10th minute lead, but Luke Owen equalised after 20 and 1-1 is how it stayed.

Dylan Griffith, Ioan Tudor, Chris Jones, Corey Hughes and Cian Owen added one each for the Green Army, Llannerchymedd hitting back through Gwion Owen (2) and Callum Evans.

Llanrug United 2 CPD Llanberis 3

Great win for Llanberis in the Arfon derby, the Darans making it no losses in their last seven meetings with Llanrug.

Owain Jones and Owain Gibbard netted for the hosts, but Kurt Hellfeld, Ben Rowlands and Tomos Saynor’s 88th minute decider won it for the visitors.

CPD Mynydd Llandegai 2 Bontnewydd 3

Jac Thompson, Adam Jones and Damien Smith supplied the goals which earned Bont back-tto-back wins, Steven Tindall and Gethin Davies responding for the hosts.

CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 2 Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 1
