Raise your glasses to the champions – Clwb Pel Droed Aberffraw!

Llongyfarchiadau/Congratulations to CPD Aberffraw – North Wales Coast West Division One champions 2025-26!

The Ynys Môn club secured the Tier 5 title tonight without kicking a ball after CPD Gaerwen’s 1-1 draw with Holyhead Town meant no other club could equal Berffro’s current total of 49 points.

The Bryn Du based team can now celebrate their first major honour in Saturday football since the new CPD Aberffraw was founded in 2008.

The previous club, which first entered the former Anglesey League in 1946-47, disbanded in 1987 and the name Aberffraw did not return to North Wales football until 21 years later.

In its first existence, Berffro won the Anglesey League in 1952-53 and 1963-64, also lifting five Dargie Cups, plus the Megan and Elias Cups three times apiece.

Since the re-emergence of the club in 2008, Aberffraw had reached the NWCFA Junior Cup Final in 2014, finished Gwynedd League runners-up in 2016-17, and spent three seasons at Tier 4 in the former Welsh Alliance League Division 2.

In 2021-22, they became part of the new North Wales Coast West League, struggling for four seasons in the Premier Division before being relegated at the end of last term.

What a contrast 12 months on!

In their last season in the Premier, Aberffraw failed to win a single game in 30 attempts, but a squad rebuild last summer led to a tremendous debut campaign in Division 1 where they are undefeated in 17 matches.

One of the major stars of the show has been experienced striker Andy Clarke, Division 1’s leading marksman on 23 league goals.

Aberffraw are now a club on the up and their great relationship with North Wales football will make their success this season a very popular event.
