Llandudno are JD Cymru North champions for 2025-26! Here’s a look at how they did it…

Llandudno were crowned Tier 2 champions for the second time in their history after beating Guilsfield 4-1 at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Easter Monday.

Jordan Hadaway’s heroes of 2025-26 have matched the achievement of Alan Morgan’s marvels of 2014-15 in securing a coveted place in the Cymru Premier.

If the Seasiders can do as well next season as Morgan’s greats did in 2015-16, finishing third in the Welsh Premier at the first attempt and qualifying for the Europa League, then Tudno supporters will be very happy indeed.

For now, the class of 2025-26 can reflect on a hugely successful campaign where they have maintained the tradition of Cymru North champions achieving glory with exceptional stats.

The Cymru North became the league’s new name in 2021-22, replacing the Cymru Alliance, which launched in 1990-91.

  • In 2021-22, the league’s first campaign under its current name, Airbus UK Broughton won the title by nine points with 23 wins and just two losses in 28 matches.
  • The 2022-23 season saw Colwyn Bay finish top with a stunning 27 wins in 30 games, losing just once and scoring 101 goals.
  • It was Holywell Town’s turn in 2023-24: 30 games, 26 wins, only 1 defeat and a miserly 17 goals conceded.
  • Last season, Colwyn Bay were champions once more, with 26 victories in 30 outings and just a single defeat – 4-0 at home to Bangor 1876 on matchday one – while Airbus were perhaps the unluckiest runners-up ever with 25 wins, just 2 losses and 102 goals scored.

All mighty champions – along with some pretty good close challengers.

Who’s the best player in this family? We’d have to say it’s Even Stephens

This season has been slightly different with three promotion places available to an increased in size Cymru Premier for 2026-27.

While finishing in first position is immense, top three was the chief target. Llandudno, Airbus and Holywell Town have been far and away the cream of the crop.

With two to play, Tudno’s record is: Won 25. drawn 2, lost 1, 77 scored and a mere 18 conceded.

Magnificent stats again, proving the Cymru North produces great champions.

For all the awesome achievements during the league’s 36-year history, there still remains only ONE invincible – the Rhyl FC title-winners of 2012-13 – 24 wins, six draws, 0 losses.

LLANDUDNO FC 2025-26

From match one, a 1-0 home success over Holyhead Hotspur, Llandudno have been on the money.

They went unbeaten in their first 16 games, 14 wins and two draws with six successive clean sheets and conceding just 7 times in that spell.

Their superb run came to an end on New Year’s Day 2026 – a 3-1 loss at CPD Y Rhyl 1879.

How did they respond? Pretty well – they have not lost a league game since, in fact they have won 11 in a row since that setback at Rhyl!

At no stage could they afford a slip-up with the excellent Airbus breathing down their necks and the Seasiders never wavered.

There have been no superstars in the Llandudno squad, just a collective of mainly experienced, consistent players who knew how to cope with, and overcome, adversity and all challenging situations.

If anyone with a decent knowledge of the Cymru North was asked who has been Llandudno’s best player this season, it’s a fair shout that lots would give the same answer – all of them. (Stephens deserves a mention though 🤣🤣🤣)

Teams win league titles, not individuals. Llandudno are a team.

Congratulations.
