CPD Y Rhyl 1879 management team agree two-year contract extension
CPD Y Rhyl 1879 have confirmed first team manager Paul Moore and assistant Ronnie Green have agreed new contracts to remain at the club until the end of the 2027/28 season.
This exciting news comes at the end of a remarkable period of progress for the Lilywhites.
Since taking charge, the pair have overseen a transformational era guiding the club to Ardal North West (Tier 3) Championship success in their first season before leading Rhyl into their first-ever campaign in the Cymru North, where they currently sit in fifth place.
On top of league progression, supporters have witnessed an unforgettable FAW Welsh Cup run, including a standout quarter-final victory over Welsh Premier side Barry Town United, before a narrow and highly credible 2–1 semi-final defeat to top-flight opposition in Caernarfon Town.

Moore added: “I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be asked to continue to manage 1879. Since I joined, it’s been clear the path the club wanted to take and I believe strongly that although some very tough decisions have been made, Ronnie and I want only the very best for the football club.
“To grow and compete, those decisions will continue to be a major factor in our ongoing success. We want to take the club to the Premier division of Welsh football and feel with the support of the club we can achieve this ambition. Finally, I want to thank all the volunteers and Lilywhite supporters for your unwavering support. I hope over the last couple of seasons you have seen positivity and growth at the club and continue your support for what we believe will be even more success in the future”
Green said: “I am over the moon and thrilled to continue as assistant-manager and support Paul in this role. Since joining this wonderful club 14 months ago, we had a big task to secure promotion and rebuild the squad and it’s been a very successful journey so far.
“Winning the league last season and enjoying strong cup runs this year, including reaching the Welsh Cup semi-final against top-tier opposition, is something we can all be proud of. Rhyl truly feels like home. I’d like to thank everyone at the club and especially the fans for their incredible support. We hope we’ve given you great memories and there’s plenty more to come.”
