The North East Wales Football Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Fawkes as its new Chief Executive following a rigorous recruitment process and ratification at Board.

Dave moves into the role having previously served as General Secretary, where he has been responsible for the administration of football across the region since 2017.

His appointment represents a natural progression within the Association, with added responsibility for the overall leadership of NEWFA and the delivery of its new strategy, developed in partnership with the Football Association of Wales.

Dave brings extensive experience from across the game. He has been involved in football over many years as both a player and a referee, providing him with a strong understanding of the grassroots game. He has since built significant experience within football
administration at North East Wales FA and has also served on the FAW Council, contributing to governance and the development of football at a national level.

Speaking on his appointment, Dave said: “I’m incredibly proud to take on the role of Chief Executive at the North East Wales FA at such an important time for the game in our region.

“Football sits at the heart of our communities, and I’m passionate about working with our clubs, volunteers and partners to strengthen that connection, support participation at all levels, and drive the Association forward into its next phase of development.

“Together, we have a real opportunity to build something that leaves a lasting impact across North East Wales.”

Dave takes up the position with immediate effect, and the Association looks forward to working with him as it continues to support and develop football across the region.
