Today is a landmark birthday for Llangefni Town midfielder Ffion Owen as she reaches 30 years of age.
Born on March 16, 1996, Ffion and her family are true Cefni-ites. Dad Terry, mum Nia and brother Gari all have past or current associations with Llangefni Town FC. Terry and Gari have won league titles and cups galore with the Ynys Môn club.
Ffion joined Llangefni at the start of 2024-25 and has made 41 appearances for the team, scoring 18 goals.
Not only is Ffion one of Ynys Môn’s greatest ever footballers, she is also one of the most decorated with numerous winners’ medals in her cabinet.
Her career goals tally is in excess of 100.
Her successes include:
Quiet and unassuming off the pitch, Ffion certainly does not hold back when she crosses the white line.
Her powerful midfield play is complemented by tremendous passing ability and gift for scoring goals from long or short distance. She is also a constant danger at set pieces.
Ffion’s aim this season is to add to the league titles she has won with Caernarfon, Llandudno and Amlwch Town and lift the North Wales Coast crown with Llangefni.
