Guilsfield 0 Llandudno 1
Leaders Llandudno secured their eighth consecutive league win with a 1-0 triumph over Guilsfield at the PRS Recruitment Stadium on Saturday.
There was early drama at Clos Mytton as Llandudno forward Aidan Higgins was shown a straight red card after just six minutes. Despite Higgins’ dismissal, the Seasiders remained on the front foot and were left frustrated when Mark Cadwallader struck the crossbar and saw his close-range finish into the net disallowed for offside.
However, Cadwallader would not be denied at the third time of asking as the forward was brought down by Guilsfield goalkeeper Luke Evans inside the area, allowing him to step up and convert from the penalty spot for his 14th league goal of the season.
Brickfield Rangers 0 Newtown 2
Jamie Hyne scored both goals as Newtown claimed back-to-back away wins and clean sheets with a 2-0 victory over Brickfield Rangers at Clywedog Park.
Hyne gave Newtown the lead four minutes before the interval as he latched onto Alfie Clark’s smart flick, found space and fired into the roof of the net.
The Robins forward made it a brace on 73 minutes by meeting Fin Starkey-Jones’ cross and finishing well into the bottom corner. Hyne had the chance to bag a hat-trick in stoppage-time, but he was unable to convert from the penalty spot.
Holywell Town 3 Caersws 1
Holywell took a step closer to confirming their place in the top three with a 3-1 victory over Caersws at the Bartons North Wales Stadium.
Talisman Jamie Breese gave the home side an early lead when he unleashed a powerful strike into the far corner, leaving Max Williams no chance of the save. Ryan Edwards nearly doubled the lead just two minutes later, but his corner crashed against the post.
However, Breese grabbed his second of the match shortly before half time, and this time the woodwork was in Holywell’s favour as the forward’s effort found the net via the underside of the crossbar. Ieuan Hewitt then gave the hosts comfort in first half stoppage-time by heading home from Jack Sconce’s corner.
Tommy Rowlands gave Caersws a glimmer of hope with his goal on the hour mark, but the first half blitz from Holywell was enough to give them all three points.
Johnny Haseldin’s side remain 11 points clear inside the top three, although fourth-place Newtown have two games in hand.
Penrhyncoch 1 Holyhead Hotspur 0
Penrhyncoch earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Holyhead Hotspur at Cae Baker.
The decisive moment arrived in the 71st minute as in-form veteran Geoff Kellaway curled his free-kick beyond Guto Hughes for his sixth goal contribution in five games.
Holyhead’s hopes of a late equalised were dashed when Hughes was shown a straight red card.
