More ideas to make the Cymru Football App a better user-experience
Now the Football Association of Wales has offered Cymru Football App subscribers freedom – albeit at a financial cost – from annoying adverts, perhaps there are one of two other improvements they might consider.
This week, the FAW announced the launch of a new ad-free subscription tier for the App, arriving during March.
This new feature responds directly to feedback from supporters and regular App users who have asked for a cleaner, uninterrupted experience when following Welsh football.
Users who wish to continue accessing the Cymru Football App free of charge will still be able to do so, with the existing ad-supported version remaining fully available to all users.
During March, users will have the option to subscribe to an ad-free version of the app for:
£2.99 per month, or £24.99 per year
Well, if a charging policy is to be introduced, maybe the FAW could provide more value for money by making the following improvements……….
- List fixtures/results in proper alphabetical order, as is tradition in football fixtures/results presentation
- Group fixtures/results for different areas of Wales together in geographical order and in correct pyramid order so people know where to find them. At present North Wales leagues can pop up in the middle of a group of South/Mid results
- Keep all the women’s fixtures/results together on a Sunday. At present they are scattered all over the place
- Stop putting lower divisions above higher ones
- Stop making users keep logging in. There is no need to log people out if they choose to stay logged in
- Stop continually using the letters FC after club names. We know they are football clubs already
- When cup ties go to penalties aim to get the outcome of shoot-outs up earlier. Sometimes – not always – there are lengthy delays (encourage clubs to act quicker)
- Address the issue of games which go beyond 90 minutes then don’t have a full-time score or an FT notice confirmed – we don’t want to see 90+30, 90+40, 90+50 (again encourage clubs/referees to act quicker)
EPILOG
The App is a wonderful concept and so much of it runs superbly well. It’s a tremendous asset to Welsh football.
However, the suggested changes here do not appear to be hard to achieve or unrealistic. If adopted, they could improve user-experience. The FAW have acknowledged my suggestions, much appreciated.
Maybe there are other amendments which could help boost the service. Followers should send their recommendations to the App co-ordinators. Don’t REFRAIN……COMPLAIN! (nicely though please)
