The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is proud to announce Coaching HER Forward, a 12-month mentorship and development programme designed to support and accelerate the careers of talented women coaches across Wales.
This pioneering initiative aims to build a strong, sustainable pipeline of women leaders who will shape the future of women’s and girls’ football at every level.
The programme will welcome a cohort of aspiring women coaches aged 18+, operating between UEFA C and UEFA A Licence levels, who are ready to take the next step in their coaching journey.

By bridging the gap between grassroots and elite football, Coaching HER Forward seeks to create confident, qualified women ready to progress into senior coaching and performance roles.
The FAW has set clear ambitions for the programme:
The programme will officially launch in late spring, with delivery running from September 2026 to August 2027.As women’s football continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, Coaching HER Forward ensures the coaching pathway grows alongside it.
