CPD Caerwys clinch league title in comeback season!

CPD Caerwys Football Club clinched the first league title in their history when they were crowned North East Wales Division 3 champions at the weekend.
Already promoted to Division 2 in their return season, the Flintshire side ensured the Division 3 championship will also be theirs by beating CPD Gronant 2-1 on Saturday.

The Lon-yr-Ysgol side remain unbeaten in league action this campaign with 11 wins and a draw from 12 games with 50 goals scored and just eight conceded.
Gronant took the lead in the weekend battle of high-flyers, Shane Hayes finding the net after 36 minutes.
The home side had Gary Fazackerley red-carded on the hour and a minute later it was 1-1 when Callum Pritchard scored for Caerwys from a Ryan Carrington assist.
The game was in the balance until the 87th minute, when sub Harvey Birch set up Karl Bacon for his 21st league and cup goal of the season.
