Six of the best from Felinheli in Genero Adran North derby

Goalmouth action from Treborth. Pictures: PATRICK CAIN – many thanks

GENERO ADRAN NORTH – SUNDAY, MARCH 1

CPDM Y Felinheli 6 (Edwards 16, 22, Allsup 49, Midwinter 51, 72, Evans 64)
CPDM Bangor 0

Six of the best from a Felinheli side which recorded their biggest win of the season this afternoon.

Although Felin had an early setback with an injury to Jay Greenough, the team produced a fantastic whole squad performance to take the win against Bangor in tough weather conditions at Treborth..

Llywela Edwards was a threat on the left wing from the off and she started the scoring with a long range free kick hitting the back of the net.

Minutes later, Edwards found herself taking another free kick in the same position, and struck this one well also to make it 2-0..

Felin were forced to make another change at half time due to injury. Alaw Prys Huws came off the bench and as always had an immediate impact.

It didn’t take long for Felin to score again in the second half, a lovely lofted ball by Catrin Evans found Jenna Allsup and she was able to tap home.

Felin were now full of confidence. A few moments later, Katie Midwinter rippled the net superbly after some good individual work from Fflur Williams, who worked tirelessly all afternoon in the middle of the park.

On the 60th minute, Felin brought on Jody Cain – great to see her return after a long spell out with injury.

Felin kept pushing and found their fifth goal through a fantastic strike from Catrin Evans, this time Allsup returning the favour of an assist.

The home side#s dominance continued and any breakthrough Bangor had was cleared away and stopped superbly by the defence, all of whom were brilliant all afternoon.

Midwinter scored her second and the team’s sixth to finish Felin’s fantastic afternoon with a score of 6-0.

A big shout out to Anna Jones who went in goal today after the departure of Catrin Beech. She played brilliantly and a clean sheet – bonus! A true team player.

Coach Llio Emyr said: “Both myself and Aaron (Jones-Evans, manager) are very happy with the performance today. A great 3 pts to solidify our place in the table. We can now take another step forward, and hopefully use the confidence gained today to go into the next few games and challenge for good results again.”
