Ten-man Holywell were ecstatic after Ryan Edwards fired home a fantastic 97th minute decider to secure a revenge win over Flintshire rivals Buckley.
Back in November, the Bucks triumphed 1-0 at the Bartons North Wales Stadium, but the tables were turned at The Globe as the third-place Wellmen won in dramatic fashion.
All that separated the sides at half time was a 33rd minute Ieuan Hewitt own goal from an Aled Bellis cross, which handed Asa Hamilton’s men a narrow lead.
Holywell did find the net before the break, but the ‘goal’ was ruled out for offside.
Five minutes into the second half, Johnny Haseldin’s side got back on terms, Jack Sconce’s free kick was converted by a wonderful looping header from Craig Lindfield – his 17th goal of the campaign.
The visitors now pushed hard for the lead. Joe Sullivan fired over the bar before home keeper Seb Osment produced fine saves to deny Jake Cooke and Lindfield.
Holywell’s victory hopes took a blow in the 80th minute when defender Ryan Austin was shown a red card for a ‘last defender’ foul.
Still the Wellmen would not be denied, and seven minutes into added time, a corner was cleared to Edwards, who drilled the winner fiercely into the bottom corner with a stunning hit on the run which was past the keeper before he could move..
That is how you bounce back!
Seven days after a 7-1 thrashing at leaders Llandudno, Gresford showed what they are made of with a 3-0 home success over in-form Flint Mountain.
These sides had drawn 4-4 at Bastion Gardens early in the season, but the return was nowhere near as close.
Friday’s result lifted the Colliers nicely out of the bottom five.
All the goals came in the first half at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
Haci Ozlu broke the deadlock on 13 minutes before a James Smith assist set up Adam Hesp to double the lead after 20.
In the 31st minute, Ozlu notched his 10th goal of the season to make it 3-0, Sam Baker this time the supplier.
No goals in the second half but there were three red cards, Gresford’s Caelan McGovern and Reagan Nicholas and Rian O’Riordan of Mountain all being sent for an early shower.
Leaders Llandudno moved five points clear as they made it 12 straight home league wins this season at the expense of Denbigh Town.
Taking 36 points out of a possible 36 at Go Goodwins Stadium in 2025-26 so far is certainly the form of champions.
Recent signing Nicholas Grogan scored for the third time in four games when he fired the hosts in front after five minutes.
Llandudno took a firm hold on proceedings when Thomas Stephens made it 2-0 on 39 and Aidan Higgins added number three with 42 on the clock.
The icing was applied to the cake when Marc Williams bagged a fourth on 88 minutes via a Joseph Carey assist.
Victory at last for Newtown as they claimed a first league win in seven attempts on Friday evening at Latham Park.
Both goals came in the opening seven minutes via Jamie Hyne and Jolyon Harries.
