Corrig McGonigle hit 4 goals for Bangor City 1876 on Friday – how long had it been since his previous hat-trick?

Thinking of more goals

Corrig McGonigle’s four-goal haul for CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 in Friday night’s 9-2 drubbing of Trearddur Bay was the striker’s first hat-trick in 100 games exactly!

The 28-year-old previous treble for the Citizens came in the club’s first-ever Cymru North match – a 6-0 win over Llanidloes Town at Bangor City Stadium on July 29, 2023.

Record goalscorer for 1876 McGonigle recently passed the 150-mark for the club he joined from Conwy Borough in February 2022.

The Anglesey-based front man has bagged a total of 163 goals in 152 league and cup appearances for the Citizens.

Friday’s hat-trick was his 15th for the club. His best return in single game was eight in a 15-1 hammering of CPD Gaerwen in March 2022 – just his fifth match for Bangor.

McGonigle has now passed the 30 goals milestone in a season three times for 1876 – in 2022-23 he amassed 56 goals and in 2021-22 he notched 34. In 2025-26, he has 31 and counting.
