NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE: Queen’s Park hit six, 11 for Caerwys, Acton progress to semis

An 11th straight win in all competitions for Queen’s Park put them within five points of Division 1 leaders Broughton United with a game in hand.
Park coped fine without top scorer Michael Latham to hit Castell Alun Colts for six.
The in-form Wrexham outfit are on the march and an exciting title chase looks to be on the cards
Corey Smart’s 10th goal of the season set the Park on their way at Queensway Stadium, the deadlock broken in the ninth minute via a Jordan Williams assist.

Nicky Williams doubled the home advantage with a penalty on 25 and after 36 he bagged his 15th goal this term, Tom Freeman setting him up.
No further goals arrived until the 71st minute when Freeman was again the supplier as Jordan Williams found the net.
Casty replied on 73 through Joshua Stennett, but this was the Park’s day, Rhys Hughes making it 5-1 on 80 before sub Ben White struck a sixth in stoppage time, Nicky Williams with a second assist to add to his pair of goals.
REST OF NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE ROUND-UP WITH SHAUN BEST

No Ryan Carrington, no problem for CPD Caerwys who were in 11th heaven.
Karl Bacon continued his hot streak with a hat-trick and two assists in an 11-1 Two Counties Cup victory over Deeside Dragons. The other goals were shared out, as Caerwys cruised into the semi-finals.
Acton continue to enjoy the season’s domestic cup competitions. After going unbeaten in the NEWFA Trophy, they also booked their semi-final place in the Two Counties Cup courtesy of three unanswered second half goals. Aston Park Rangers and Overton Recreation are still to contest the competition’s remaining quarter final tie.
Llanuwchllyn’s reserves notched a second consecutive victory to go joint third in the table. In a tightly contested league, the Bala based side are three points behind leaders Llay Welfare reserves and have a game in hand.
