Prestatyn Town manager Aden Shannon has expressed delight at his latest signing.
The latest move in Paul Fleming’s football career involves a short journey along the Denbighshire coast.
After leaving CPD Y Rhyl 1879 earlier this week, Fleming has become the latest addition to Shannon’s squad at Ardal North West club Prestatyn Town.
Shannon said: “I’m really pleased to get Paul over the line. As soon as I saw he was available, I got in touch straight away. We had a good conversation about the plans for the club and what he can bring to the squad, and he was keen to be part of our vision going forward.
“He’s a great addition to the squad — very fit, with an eye for goal — and he’ll bring valuable experience to the group. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
Having won the Tier 3 title twice previously, Ardal North West is a level of football the 38-year-old Fleming will be familiar with.
The player was the subject of interest from a higher league club, but has opted to join a number of former Lilywhites team-mates at Bastion Gardens,
The attacking midfield general is perhaps best known for five successful years at Denbigh Town where the highlight was lifting the Ardal North West title and Ardal Northern Cup in 2022-23.
Fleming joined Denbigh from St Asaph City in 2019, winning the Players’ Player of the Season Award before taking the captain’s armband.
As skipper, he won both the aforementioned league and cup double, whilst also skippering the side to the 2023 FAW Trophy final.
In that unforgettable 2022-23 campaign, he bagged 24 goals in 38 matches.
In a Denbigh shirt, he totalled 133 games in all competitions scoring 42 goals – 26 league and 16 cups.
Fleming joined Rhyl 1879 in November 2024 and was a key figure in the squad crowned Ardal North West champions last season.
He featured in a total of 38 matches for Paul Moore’s side, notching 10 goals.
