SIX North Wales teams out of 8 in Welsh Cup quarter-finals – here’s the previews

JD WELSH CUP PREVIEWS – SATURDAY, JANUARY 31
Two Tier 3 underdogs feature in this Saturday’s Welsh Cup quarter-finals which are dominated by teams from North Wales.
For the first time in the competition’s 154-year-history, a record SIX representatives from Gogledd Cymru are involved in the last eight of the national knockout.
You won’t read that fact anywhere else – you know why!
Both CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 and Trearddur Bay have their eyes on making history – becoming the only Tier 3 teams ever to reach the Welsh Cup semis apart from Holywell Town in 2013-14.

CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 v Caerau Ely (2 pm)

Unbeaten in 30 matches across all competitions this season, CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 will host Cymru South high-flyers Caerau Ely for a place in the last four.
Formed just six years ago, Tier 3 Ardal North West leaders Bangor knocked out Cymru South second-placed side Trefelin BGC in the last round, so certainly appear to have a decent chance of eliminating another second-tier opponent on home turf – they’ve already done it three times in this season’s competition.
Bangor have strengthened their squad by signing four-time Cymru Premier title winner with The New Saints and twice top-flight Golden Boot holder Declan McManus.
The Citizens have won through six ties to reach this stage, scoring 26 goals, and have eliminated three Tier 2 clubs.
