Transfer trail – 10 more as we head towards January’s end

Lee Jones (to Connah’s Quay Town)

Big player in the success of Connah’s Quay Town so far returns to the club.
Jones, 31, was part of the Town squads which lifted the North East Wales League Championship title, Mike Beech Memorial Trophy and Two Counties Cup treble in 2021-22, as well as the Premier Cup winners of the following season.
Last featuring for the club in 2023-24, the season where promotion to Tier 3 was clinched, Jones has made 63 appearances for Town, scoring 25 goals.
Known as “Trigger”, he is now back at Deeside Stadium, bringing a wealth of experience, having also played for Airbus, Connah’s Quay Nomads, Mold, and, most recently, Oswestry Town during his career.
Quay Town manager Gary McConnell said: “Lee will add real quality to our attacking department, and his experience will be invaluable in supporting and guiding our young, talented squad. Another quality addition to the group — we’re really looking forward to working with him.”
Harry Brown (to Connah’s Quay Town)

Joins Town having started the 2025-26 season with Ardal North East club Lex XI.
Previous clubs include Penyffordd Lions and Castell Alun Colts.
Joined Penyffordd in October 2022, making 47 first team appearances and scoring 15 goals before departing in early in 2025.
The 24-year-old was with Casty for three seasons, leaving them in August 2022 having featured in 29 first team matches and scoring seven times.
Connah’s Quay Town manager Gary McConnell said: “Harry was brought to our attention by a member of the coaching staff and immediately stood out with his high energy and excellent work ethic. He is another attacking option who will add real value to the squad.
“Harry has previously played for Penyffordd Lions and most recently Lex XI, and we’re excited about what he can bring to the group.
“We’re really looking forward to working with Harry and supporting his development at the club.”
Toby Jones (Trearddur Bay to Penmaenmawr Phoenix)

Well-travelled midfielder/striker, aged 33, joins Tier 3 Ardal North West strugglers Penmaenmawr from Trearddur Bay.
Former full-timer in the Welsh Premier with Neath, who he joined from Conwy at the start of 2011-12.
Later represented in stints across Tiers 1 and 2 Airbus UK Broughton, Llandudno, Caernarfon Town, Rhyl, Denbigh Town and Conwy Borough, as well as Colwyn Bay, before signing for Trearddur Bay at the start of 2024-25.
Jones made 67 league and cup appearances for Trearddur Bay, netting 23 goals.
Cymru Premier appearances total 120 and he has played 61 Cymru North matches.
Featured in a Europa League qualifier for Airbus against JFK Ventspils of Latvia in 2013-14. Most club appearances: Llandudno 110.
Wales C international, lively with pace and strong shooting ability.
Shay Murphy (Holyhead Hotspur to Cemaes Bay)

Young attacking player brings vital Tier 2 and 3 experience gained at Holyhead Hotspur to North Wales Coast West Premier Division promotion hopefuls Cemaes Bay.
Murphy, 20, made his first team debut for Hotspur in a 1-0 Ardal North West victory over St Asaph City at the start of 2023-24.
Went on to make 83 appearances in all competitions for the senior XI, scoring 18 goals. Played in 50 Ardal North West games for the club – including 2024-25 promotion play-off final victory over Llanuwchllyn – and was involved in 10 Cymru North outings this season.
Prior to representing Hotspur at senior level, played for Caernarfon Town Development, where he was a prolific scorer, plus Hotspur Reserves and Under-17s, as well as Caernarfon U16s and U14s.
Cemaes first team manager Nick Dumbarton said: “Shay is a technically gifted and quick player with an eye for goal that will add further to our group of attackers and give us further options for the remainder of the season. I look forward to integrating Shay into the Cemaes team over the next few weeks to give him a platform to develop as a player and apply his talents.”
Mo Ali (to CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

After a brief spell away, defender Ali recently returned to the Hops and Barley Community Stadium.
In fact, it’s been a very impressive comeback, as a superb performance in last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Buckley earned the Somalian international selection for the Cymru Leagues Team of the Week.
The 31-year-old joined Llandudno last season and made 31 appearances for the Cymru North side.
He switched to CPD Y Rhyl in summer 2025 and featured in 10 games for the Lilywhites before taking a break in November.
Cai Roberts (Llandudno to Holyhead Hotspur LOAN)

Highly-rated young Ynys Môn defender, aged 17, joins Hotspur on loan from Llandudno for the rest of the season.
Having started out at Llandudno FC Academy U12 and U14s, as well as Amlwch Town Juniors U14 and U17s, Cai made his senior debut for Llandudno Reserves at the start of 2024-25.
Took his first team bow for the Seasiders in a Welsh Cup 4-0 triumph over Llanberis on September 20, 2024.
Has made 18 first team appearances in all for Tudno, but is now off to Holy Island to build up more experience.
Callum Hardy (Crewe Alexandra to Prestatyn Town)

It’s a big welcome for 19-year-old former Cymru youth international to Prestatyn Town following his departure from Crewe Alexandra in the summer.
An attacking player, he brings energy, quality and experience at a top level to the Ardal North West Seasiders.
Ryan Roberts (to Prestatyn Town)

Prestatyn Town manager Aden Shannon has made another addition to his squad in Ryan Roberts.
Previously representing Colwyn Bay, Abergele, Holywell, St Asaph, NFA and Kinmel Bay, the attack-minded midfielder now aims to make his mark at Bastion Gardens.
Euan Preece (to Llysfaen)

Signed this month for the North Wales Coast East Division One club, renewing a relationship which previously existed with the under-15 side.
Also previously with Mold Alexandra under-15s and U16s.
Llysfaen manager Gaz Dentith said: “Delighted that Euan has decided to join me again at Llysfaen. Euan has been a loyal committed player throughout his junior years who has a natural ability to find the back of the net. His awareness for 16 year old is unbelievable. his pace is frightening and his footwork is unbelievable.
“Euan has already played a couple of fixtures for us and he certainly doesn’t look out place.”
Eddy Brown (Buckley Town to Connah’s Quay Town)

Left-wing-back Brown returns to the club following a short spell away with Buckley Town.
He lands at Deeside Stadium at the same time as his brother Harry.
Eddy has great energy and a brilliant left foot.
Town manager Gary McConnell said: “We were gutted to lose him during pre-season but absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to bring him back to Connah’s Quay Town where he is thought of highly by the club, staff and team mates.”
Eddy, 29, made 11 first team appearances and scored one goal for Cymru North Buckley before deciding to return to Quay.
He featured in 25 games for Connah’s Quay Town in 2024-25 after signing from Penyffordd Lions, where he made 56 appearances and prior to that was with Penycae and Castell Alun Colts.
