Wins for Mochdre, Penmaenmawr Blues and Dragonhearts in women’s recreational league

NWCFA RECREATIONAL WOMEN’S LEAGUE REPORTS AND TABLE JANUARY 19

Llandudno Valkyries 2 Mochdre Lionesses 3

Revitalised Valkyries were chasing a third win in a row and led 2-0, but ended up narrowly beaten after a roaring comeback from the Lionesses.
Jennifer Davies gave Llandudno a third-minute lead, Poppy Thomas with the assist, and Azita Ahari made it two with 14 on the clock.
Half time 2-0 to the hosts and work needing to be done by Mochdre.
And the Lionesses delivered, Emma Dainty pulling a goal back before Charlotte Thomas levelled on 36, Lindsay Bowes and Kelsey Hughes with the assists.
And it was Olivia Sutcliffe who came up with Mochdre’s winner, Dainty this time the chance supplier.

VALKYRIES REPORT….

A tough result on the scoreboard, but a performance full of heart, character and togetherness from the Valkyries.
We started brightly and were rewarded early when Jen Davies found the net inside the opening minutes, assisted by Poppy Thomas, setting the tone for a fast, competitive encounter. Mochdre responded, but the Valkyries continued to battle, showing great teamwork and communication throughout the first half.
Although the game ended 3–2 to the visitors, this was a night to be proud of. The team demonstrated resilience, support for one another and a strong sense of identity.
We would like to wish Mochdre all the best for the rest of the season.
Player of the match selected by Mochdre was Lydia Jones
Player of the Match selected by Llandudno was Mochdre Number 12 (Charlotte Thomas)
