Friday night reports – Wins for Menai Bridge and Brymbo, two draws in FAW Reserve North

Jamie McDaid notched his 22nd goal of the season for Meai Bridge Tigers in a 5-1 victory

NORTH WALES COAST WEST PREMIER DIVISION

Menai Bridge 5 Bontnewydd 1

Free-scoring Menai Bridge took over top spot in the Premier Division with a 5-1 thrashing of Bontnewydd on Friday night.
Callum Davidson gave the hosts a second-minute lead via an assist from John Littlemore, who then added a second on 15, Jamie McDaid the chance supplier.
Bont stayed in the contest when captain Rhys Hughes pulled one back on 17 minutes – half time 2-1.
The second half saw the Tigers take command, McDaid netting his 22nd goal of the campaign, set up by Littlemore.
Kaine Bentley made it 4-1 on 77 and Matthew Jones completed the scoring after 89 with his 13th goal this term.
Bridge are now unbeaten in nine league outings.

NORTH EAST WALES DIVISION 2

Cefn Druids 1 Brymbo 4

Callum Edwards’ third hat-trick in a row secured a convincing victory for Brymbo at The Rock.
Edwards struck on 30, 35 and 42 minutes to bring up his fifth treble in a season which has delivered 19 goals in 14 appearances to date.
Keanu Williams replied for Druids in first half added time, but Harvey Keefe made it 4-1 to the visitors with 54 on the clock.

Tomos Salisbury struck for Ruthin a minute into first half added time, but Louis Bebbington-Rodgers and sub Charlie Roberts hit back for the Wingmakers on 52 and 64 minutes respectively only for the visitors to claim a point by making it two-apiece after 84 through Boas Davies.

Denbigh Town Reserves 3 Llandudno Reserves 3

Rhys Lloyd’s 95th minute penalty rescued a point for Denbigh at Central Park in front of a crowd of 228.
It was Lloyd who edged Town in front after seven minutes, but Sam Parry levelled from the spot on 20 beforeSam Glennon handed Tudno the lead in first half stoppage time.
The visitors looked to be heading for victory when Parry’s 23rd goal of the campaign on 59 minutes made it 3-1.
However, the hosts responded on 78 through Shughie McFee and then bagged the late, late equaliser through Lloyd’s 20th net-finder of the season.
