Bangor City 1876 has appointed experienced coach Robbie Anderson as its Head of Youth Development.
Robbie arrives at the club with a comprehensive CV, having held key coaching roles across his impressive career within football.
Formerly Everton Football Club’s Senior Academy Development Officer, Robbie has played a major part in the development of numerous elite talents such as Nathan Broadhead, Tom Davies and many others including current City star Dion Donohue.
During his career, Robbie has coached within Premier League academies such as Everton and Manchester City and presently works within Tim Cahill’s Foxtel Academy.
His previous roles showcase his ability as an elite level coach with an understanding of the youth game at the highest level, which will in turn greatly benefit Bangor and the local community. whilst still engaged within Foxtel.
Bangor City 1876 Director of Football Lee Dixon said: “We are delighted Robbie has joined the football club and his experience and knowledge is crucial for us to establish the best youth and development pathway for our club.
“Robbie has worked at the highest level of Everton Football Club academy and with some of best football players in the world.
“Robbie comes with his UEFA A license qualification and reputation of developing the best young players around the world and very well connected with his roles at the Tim Cahill soccer academy & David Beckham soccer schools.
“Robbie has been a coach educator and this is something he will improve within our club giving our coaches and teams the best possible guidance they need to improve on and off the pitch.”
Welsh international, and Bangor lad, Nathan Broadhead reflects fondly on his time under Robbie’s coaching and mentorship: “I have great memories playing under Robbie at Everton FC and him taking us to Spain for the Real Madrid under 10s tournament. A great coach and a special time with other players like Tom Davies in the squad. Good luck Robbie!”
Former Welsh Cup winning Bangor City manager and Everton FC Director Graeme Sharp also offered his congratulations to Robbie on his appointment: “I’m absolutely delighted to see Robbie back in football with Bangor City 1876. I got to know Robbie when I returned to Everton many years ago. I was fortunate to work with him in Thailand and immediately knew he was a good coach and a good motivator of young talent. I wish him all the best in the future with Bangor City 1876.”
Robbie joins the club during an exciting chapter in its history, and arrives motivated to play a vital role in 1876’s development over the coming years:
