ARDAL NORTH LEAGUE CUP ROUND 2

CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 5 (S Jones 35 & 81, B Owen 51, Summers-Jones 66, McGonigle 80)
Prestatyn Town 1 (Parry pen 24)

City recovered from going a goal down to qualify for their third quarter-final of the season.

Michael Johnston’s side added a last eight place in the League Cup to the identical stages reached of both the Welsh Cup and FAW Amateur Trophy.

In their first outing under new manager Aden Shannon, the visitors took a 24th minute lead when Robbie Parry was brought down in the box and got up to score from the spot.

Sam Jones equalised on 35 minutes and it was all-square at the break.

Six minutes into the second half, Bangor were in front when Ben Owen headed in a great cross from Logan Williams.

Dylan Summers-Jones scored for the third successive game in 2026 when he nodded in a Dion Donohue delivery to make it 3-1 after 69.

Top-scorer Corrig McGonigle came on as a 74th minute substitute and soon made an impact, knocking in his 23rd goal of the season when he got the final touch to send the ball across the goal-line.

Sam Jones completed the scoring with his second of the night – and 13th of the campaign – via a fine hit from distance.
