Penycae Football Club have welcomed back Dan Richards as their new first team manager.
The Wrexham-area outfit parted company with Jack Ellis and Kieran Lee-Birch earlier this week, that pair having moved on to manage The New Saints Women.
Richards was previously Penycae chief from 2021-23, then took over at Rhostyllen for a season before filling the assistant-manager’s role at Gresford Athletic of the Cymru North.
Earlier in his career, he managed Cefn Mawr Rangers for two-and-a-half years, as well as having spells on the staff of Cefn Druids and Bala Town.
On his return to Afoneitha Road, Richards said: “It’s fantastic to be back at Penycae. After speaking with Andy and Colin, it was clear that our ambitions for the club are aligned, so it was an easy decision for me.
“The club is in a fantastic position both on and off the field. Jack and Kieran have done a great job with the existing players, and as a group we will look to continue to push, improve, and finish the season as strong as possible.”
Penycae are currently fourth in the Ardal North East League.
Further announcements regarding the coaching staff will be made in due course.
