What a start to 2026 for the league’s bottom side – their first ever victory!
Llandudno picked up their first win this evening at the expense of Dragonhearts.
After four straight defeats, the Valkaries turned the tide at the start of the new year in a close-fought tussle at Go Goodwins Stadium.
Jennifer Davies put the hosts a goal up after four minutes and it stayed 1-0 up to the break.
Jen Davies scored again in the 31st minute to double the lead, abd although Jade Davies pulled one back for the visitors on 45 bia a penalty. it ended 2-1 to the Llandudno outfit.

Llandudno Valkyries made history with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Prestatyn Athletic, securing the first win ever for the club and underlining the huge progress being made by the squad.
The breakthrough came early, with Jen Davies for Llandudno opening the scoring early to set the tone for the match.
Llandudno continued to press and were rewarded again as Davies struck for a second time, completing a brilliant brace and giving the Valkyries control of the game.
Prestatyn responded with determination and managed to pull a goal back from the penalty spot through Jade Davies, keeping the contest alive.
However, Llandudno showed real resilience, organisation and belief to see out the game and protect their lead until the final whistle.
Individual performances stood out across the pitch.
Zee was named Llandudno’s Player of the Match, an award selected by Prestatyn, highlighting her impact and influence throughout the game. A special mention from the Llandudno Rec Ladies to Carly who put on an absolute performance!
Meanwhile, Llandudno selected Prestatyn’s number 9 Julie Green as their standout performer for the opposition.
This result marks a massive milestone for Llandudno Valkyries FC — not just the first win in the club’s history, but a clear sign of improvement, confidence and momentum moving forward.
A proud day for the team and everyone involved with the club.
