Which North Wales striker reached 450 senior career goals today?
CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 striker Corrig McGonigle reached a special landmark today – 450 career goals.
The 28-year-old from Llansadwrn, Ynys Môn, hit his latest milestone when he netted 1876’s opener in a 6-1 Dragon Signs FAW Amateur Trophy victory against CPD Y Felinheli.
Corrig, who joined 1876 in 2021-22, is also the club’s all-time highest marksman on 148 goals from 135 league and cup appearances.
In 2021-22, he was third highest scorer in Tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier with 27 goals despite only joining the club in February 2022. Goal machines Asa Thomas and Marc Evans of Bodedern Athletic were the only hitmen ahead of him in the chart.
Corrig was Ardal North West leading marksman in 2022-23 with 37 league goals – double the amount any other player managed. That season saw 1876 promoted to the Cymru North via a play-off.
He netted a hat-trick in Bangor’s first Cymru North fixture – a 6-0 caning of Llaniidles Town – and was second highest goal getter in that 2023-24 campaign with 26, behind only Flint’s net-buster supreme Elliott Reeves.
Last season, Corrig notched the most goals for Bangor, who finished up relegated from the Cymru North, this time scoring 11.
He is currently joint-third in the Ardal North West standings on seven goals – just two behind Bethesda’s Osian Hughes. Corrig has bagged 16 so far in all competitions in 2025-26.
The islander is a two-time past winner of the Bob Brodie Trophy for the most goals scored in Anglesey football. He pocketed 64 for Pentraeth in 2015-16 (then a BB record) and 59 in Glantraeth colours in 2016-17. Corrig is playing in his 12th full season in senior football.
