NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE REPORTS OCTOBER 25, 2025
REM JONES CUP QUARTER-FINALS
CPD Blue Bridge 0 Prestatyn Sports 4

Sports claimed a third win of the season over Blue Bridge, this one taking them into the semi-finals of the REM Jones Cup.
The visitors started brightly, dominating possession and playing some superb football from the first whistle.
Their early pressure paid off when a miskick from a Blue Bridge defender fell kindly to Ashley Castle, who slipped a perfect through ball into Mike Jones, and he calmly slotted past the keeper.
Despite a few tough decisions going against them, Sports continued to control the game and were rewarded with a penalty in the 42nd minute. Alfie Griffiths stepped up with confidence and smashed the ball into the back of the net to double the lead.
Just minutes before half-time, Sports struck again. A flowing team move ended with Mike Jones finishing clinically to make it 3-0 at the break with his 12th goal of the season.
After the restart, Sports made a few changes but remained firmly on top. A pinpoint cross from Sam Jones found Dylan Taylor, who took a superb first touch before firing into the net to seal a convincing win.
Llandyrnog United 7 Penrhyn Bay 1
Revenge for Llandyrnog as they thrashed a Penrhyn Bay side which ended their unbeaten league record seven days earlier with a 3-0 win.
It was a different tale at Cae Nant, Alfie Harrison netting a hat-trick, Luke Appleby a double and Huw Sadler and James Harrison a goal apiece for dominant Dyrny.
Gabriel George notched Penrhyn Bay’s consolation.
A delighted Llandyrnog manager Sion Morris said: “That was the performance I’ve been after.
“The lads were rightly frustrated after last week’s result and we could’ve either felt sorry for ourselves or go out there today and put it right.
“From 1-17, I couldn’t ask for more, they gave me everything.
“Penrhyn Bay are a very organised side, so to put 7 past them shows how dominant we were.
“Thanks as always to the Dyrny faithful for coming out to support.”
Llysfaen 0 Crozzy 0
(Crozzy won 6-5 on pens)

Crozzy went through to the semis after edging a close penalty shoot-out at the Bananabeu.
Llysfaen managers Gaz Sorfleet and Gaz Dentith said after the match: “Gutted for the lads sums up today, they certainly deserved more for the second week running but the same story applied today where we couldn’t take our chances.
“We created more than enough, especially first half, but we know if we don’t score goals we don’t win games.

“Defensively our shape has been encouraging the last two games, keeping consecutive clean sheets, but we know where we need to work ahead of next week’s league clash with Prestatyn Wanderers, where a result is vital to push our season on.
“Shoutout to all of our penalty takers for stepping up and heads up to the ones that missed. Well done to Crozzy Football Club and good luck for the rest of the season.”
Rhuddlan Town 3 Prestatyn Wanderers 2
Rhuddlan fought back from 2-0 down to progress to the last four.
After a positive first 15 minutes for Town which saw skipper Liam Bowers twice hit the post, Wanderers grabbed the lead on 20 when an unmarked Kyle Mottley scored from a header.
In the 33rd minute the away total was doubled when Adam Cassidy was left one-on-one with the keeper to make it 2-0.
A minute later, a scrappy clearance from Wanderers fell to sub Callum Lloyd who sent a bullet into the bottom left-hand corner.
Half-time: 1-2
After the break Rhuddlan piled on the pressure and Riley Booker struck the post before his free-kick ricocheted to Harvey Gordon who thundered the ball into the net to make it two-apiece with 67 on the clock.
Wanderers had a huge chance in the 89th minute but struck the bar and player-manager Sean Martin blocked a rebound with his feet, keeping it at 2-2.
Three minutes over the 90, Ebin George showed great strength to win the ball and feed a superb pass to Bowers, whose low driven shot won the tie.
Rhuddlan manager Martins said: “Big quarter final game and a great win. We had a fairly slow start which was expected due to injuries and a suspension. Lots of positives to take from that game, despite hitting the woodwork many times we dug deep and got ourselves through to the semis. Now we can give November a big push and get back to where we want to be.”
