It was a true football spectacle down at Hawarden as The Dockers faced the home side in a relentless, end-to-end clash.

Despite the blustery, rainy conditions, a good crowd was in attendance to witness an incredible 14 goals scored in what can only be described as a proper goal-fest.

The Dockers ultimately took the spoils with a thrilling 8-6 victory over a determined Hawarden side.

CCC started strong, quickly building a lead through Nat, assisted by Kelly Cormack, followed by a quick brace from Leanne (assisted by Stacy and then Chloe Jones).

Hawarden were quick to answer, with Rebecca slotting home an assist from Alisha Owen and Gertrude netting with a setup from Rebecca.

Dockers’ star striker Stacy Harrison secured her hat-trick, with assists coming from Leanne (twice) and Deryn. Deryn also got on the score sheet herself, assisted by Stacy.

Hawarden mounted an impressive comeback, fuelled by their own hat-trick hero, Rebecca, who completed her haul. Kirsty also bagged a brace for the hosts, with assists from Rebecca and Della Bennett, keeping the pressure high on The Dockers.

The highlight of the game came late on when Dockers’ goalkeeper, Louise, proved her versatility by swapping her gloves for boots, coming out to play striker and immediately scoring a phenomenal goal, assisted by Nikki, to seal the victory!

Hawarden Park Ladies and Girls

Hawarden Park commented: “An absolute brilliant battle – 14 goals, goalposts rattled, super saves, brilliant teamwork and football played from both teams.

“The ladies did themselves proud in only their 3rd fixture and nearly staged an unbelievable comeback from 7-2 down. Character, resilient and even had fun.

“Great to see both sides enjoying the game and a great turn out of spectators to witness a superb game.”
