North Wales Coast West League: Wonder strike lights up Blaenau victory, seven for Llangoed

Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs line up in their new kit before Saturday’s win

NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE

PREMIER DIVISION

Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 3 Bontnewydd 1

Youth and experience starred in unison as Blaenau rose to third in the table after Saturday’s win at Cae Clyd.

Eighteen-year-old Deio Williams delivered a double while veteran Iwan Jones netted with an absolute screamer for a Quarrymen outfit which claimed just a second home victory in six attempts.

Bont took a 10th minute lead through a Jac Bee penalty, but the equaliser on 32 was something special.

The ball dropped nicely on the left of the box for Iwan Jones, who controlled and sent a right-foot missile beyond keeper Morgan Healy.

Williams clinched the points for Gerallt Michelmore’s side with goals in the 71st and 84th minutes.

One of his strikes from outside the box flew in through the hands of keeper Healy.

CPD Llanberis 4 CPD Mynydd Llandegai 2

Llanberis led 4-0 in Saturday’s game at Ffordd Padarn before two late Llandegai strikes put some respectability on the scoreline from their point of view.

Dion Owen’s 20th minute goal was all that separated the teams at half time, but after the break the Darans went to town, Kurt Hellfeld doubling the lead from an Owen assist on 52, then Iwan Price and Guto Jones adding further net-finders with 64 and 77 on the clock.

Wyn Morris and Gethin Davies replied on 85 and 87 minutes respectively.

DIVISION ONE

CPD Aberffraw 5 Holyhead Town 0

Aberffraw remain unbeaten and stay a point clear at the summit after Saturday’s five-goal beating of Holyhead Town.

After a goalless first half, Tom Innes, Connor Gordon, Andy Clarke and sub Luke Winter (2) shared the scoresheet spotlight for Berffro in the second period.

CPD Cefni 4 Caernarfon Borough 2

Boro led twice at Isgraig but Cefni eventually won the day.

Owain Hughes and Terry Watkinson struck for the visitors in the first half, Nathan Lewis replying, making it 2-1 to Alex Philp’s warriors at the midway point.

The score remained the same until the 79th minute when James Lewis levelled, then Nathan Lewis’ second and Tyler Mapp bagged crucial late goals for Cefni.

CPD Gaerwen 2 Llanfairpwll 2

All-square on derby day.

Keiran Williams and Jay Finter put Gaerwen two-up with goals on 31 and 33 minutes respectively, but Jason Williams pulled one back after 37.

Ashley Davies equalised in the 81st and 2-2 is how it stayed.

Llangoed and District 7 Bethesda Rovers 1

Luis Teles notched a consolation for Rovers.

CPD Mountain Rangers 1 CPD Deiniolen 0

Joshua Williams’ 24th minute goal via an assist from captain Ben Davies was enough to pocket all three points for Mountain Rangers at Cae Gors.
