North Wales cricket in spotlight as Buckley CC wins Club of the Year

Buckley has been named Club of the Year at the annual Cricket Wales awards.

The prestigious achievement caps a great season for the Flintshire club which saw their first team win the North Wales Cricket League Division Two title and the Buckley Belles finish as league softball champions.

There were also numerous successes among the various age groups including the under-11s being crowned North Wales champions.

Much great work has been carried out at Lane End over recent months, including a fundraising drive for an accessible and inclusive car park at the ground.

The annual Cricket Collective awards annually celebrate the local heroes who make the game tick in many capacities – the volunteers, coaches, groundskeepers, schools’ programmes and champions of the sport.

The award ceremony took place this week at the home of cricket in Wales, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
