UPDATED: North Wales Cricket League Divisions 1 to 4: Hawarden Park and Abergele promoted

Hawarden Park have clinched promotion to the North Wales Cricket League Premier Division, while Abergele sealed their place in Division One for 2026 on the final day of the season last Saturday.
Although they finished third, Hawarden Park are promoted instead of second-place Halkyn.
Halkyn CC were advised on Thursday that they have been denied promotion to the Premier Division based on not meeting the junior compliancy the ECB expect for top 2 division clubs (3 hardball junior sides – Halkyn have only got 1 team). Hawarden Park are promoted in their place.
Division One

Mochdre 2nd XI (1) 108-10 Halkyn (14) 109-3
Halkyn clinched second place with a seven-wicket victory at Mochdre seconds last weekend.
Put into bat, the hosts were bowled out for 108, Alex North taking 3-25, Gareth Thomas and Muhammad Bajwa both 2-18 off nine overs, then Halkyn eased to 109-3 from 24,2, Nathan Roett 39 not out and Andrew Kendrick 38 no, Alex J Davies 2-18.
Bangor 2nd XI v Northop 2nd XI – CANCELLED
Connah’s Quay (12) 121-10 Gresford (3) 79-10
Quay were all out for 121 in a mere 19.2 overs, Mali Auty 47, Cam Evans 3-19, Mohammadi Gul 2-19 and Ahmadzai Wali Ahamad Zai 2-26 for Gresford, who lost all their wickets for just 79, Auty 2-6, Rhys Jones 2-13 and Joshua Clarke 2-29 for the winning hosts.

Despite achieving a maximum points haul, Hawarden Park missed out on the promotion spots, but still go up to the Premier as second-place Halkyn are not eligible.
Jamie Beale made 35 in Brymbo seconds’ lowly total of 74 all out, Tom Norris 3-3, Ian Martin 3-10 and Jac Williams 2-10 for the hosts, who cruised to 76-0 off 18.1, Corey Cuffe 42 not out, Campbell Marr 27 no.

Well done Abergele – promoted to Division One after an excellent 2025 season.

Gele inserted the opposition and bowled Pwllheli out for 146, Mohsin Khan 46, Lewis Tolond 3-30, Sanjo Kuttan 3-33 and David Moulson 2-42 for the hosts, who made it to 147-2 off 28.3, Nathan Aldridge 39 no, Gwil Lloyd Jones 36 no and Edward Rooney 35.

Marchwiel and Wrexham (1) 71-10 Corwen (14) 162-10
After plummeting to 88-7, Corwen recovered to set a winning 162, number nine bat Steff Lloyd 32, Luke Davies 4-26, Sam Shoemark 3-24 and Phil Oddie 2-20 for the home side, who were dismissed for just 71, Lloyd 4-15, Simon Harrison 2-3 and Jordan Williams 2-16.
Menai Bridge 2nd XI (12) 80-6 Ruthin (3) 79-10
Osian Roberts top-scored with 34 as Ruthin were sent packing for 79, Phil Smith 3-3, Ollie Wood 3-18 and Llyr Midgley 2-19 for the hosts, who got home on 80-6, Jonas Roberts 3-9.
Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (3) 83-10 Carmel & District (12) 87-6
On a day where totals below 100 were commonplace, another such outcome occurred at Alder Meadow where Carmel finished a good season on a winning high.
The home side were all removed for 83, Amer Jamil 3-2, Greg Banham 2-6, Ryan Roberts 2-11 and Jagath Magulagama 2-16 for the visitors, who lost six wickets in reply before sealing victory, Sam Andrews 2-21 for Pont.

Division Three

Bersham (11) 181-10 Mold 2nd XI (4) 158-10
Salu Sebastian (53) and Aneesh Pattali (47) guided Bersham to a winning 181 all out, Craig Roberts 4-33 and Henry Roberts 3-23 for Mold seconds, who could only manage 155 in response, Daniel Williams 48, Derick Dineshan 3-13 and Sebastian 3-34.
Bethesda 2nd XI (4) 154-8 Abergele 2nd XI (11) 157-9
On a great day for Abergele CC, the 2nd XI clinched a thrilling one-wicket triumph at Parc Villa.
Ashley Rowlands made a fine 60 and Dewi Roberts 37 in Pesda’s decent effort of 154-8 off 40, David Holmes 3-31 and Gajanan Hegde 2-15 for Gele, who replied with 157-9 in the final over having been 126-8, Osian Thomas 51 no, Rowlands completing a superb match with 4-30, Roberts 2-16 and Sopan Patil 2-19.
Clwb Criced Caernarfon-(4) 138-10 Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (11) 156-10
Promoted Gwersyllt Park seconds took the honours by 18 runs in a good contest at Coed Helen.
Opener Ethan McCarthy made 88 in Park’s 156 all out, Naimul Islam 3-27 and Amdadul Hoque 2-23 for the Cofis, who were bowled out for 138, Shahin Papon 37, McCarthy completing an amazing performance all-round with 4-33, Graeme Bell 2-6 and Ben Griffiths 2-19.
Gresford 2nd XI (0) 66-10 Hawarden Park 2nd XI (15) 69-1
Maharshi Joshi scooped 4-5 and Tom Wilson 3-17 as Hawarden dismissed Gresford for a paltry 66, the visitors getting to 69-1 off 12.2, Wilson 36 no.
Llandudno 2nd XI (14) 149-2 Buckley 2nd XI (1) 147-10
Comfortable success for Llandudno seconds at The Oval.
Buckley seconds were all back in the hutch for 147, Jatin Sharma 48 and Jon Whitnall 44, Elin Roberts 2-17, David Barlow 2-20 and Ollie McKinley 2-21 for Tudno, who eased to 149-2 off 31.2, captain Barlow 57 no and Lucas Hughes 33 no.

Carmel & District 2nd XI (2) 117-9 Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (13) 192-5
Skipper Matthew Salisbury (47), Michael Forgrave (33) and Zahid Sharif 30 no helped the visitors post a fomidable 192-5, Nick Hughes 2-14 for the hosts who were limited to 117-9, Matthew Morris 3-27, Sebastian Oddie 2-22.
Hawarden Park 3rd XI (0) 72-7 Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn (15) 186-6
Aryaman Arora (43), Deepak Loguchetty Deenadayalu (42) and Nazeer Ahmadzai (38) were the main contributors in Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn’s total of 186-6, Ayran Aryan 2-16 for Hawarden thirds, who were restricted to 72-7, Ian Parsonage 39, Jonathan Fagan 3-5 and Jon Saunby 3-7 for the winning side.
