Champions Colwyn Bay off to a flyer

Colwyn Bay began their defence of the North Wales Women’s Recreational League title with a 5-0 win over Penmaenmawr Phoenix Yellows last Thursday.

Bay were the inaugural champions of the new league last season and based on their opening performance look more than capable of going for it again.

Two goals from Jaide Ang and one by Anna Jones put Bay Ladies on top at the break at Eirias Park.

In the second half, a Samantha O’Carroll double completed the scoring as Bay launched their league campaign with a big win

The next game in the league comes up this Thursday (September 11) when Prestatyn Athletic Dragonhearts host Kinmel Bay, kick off 7.30 pm at St Asaph Leisure Centre.
