What a start for new head coach Jenny Sugarman as Wrexham scored five away goals for only the second time in an Adran Premier fixture.
Even more impressive was the fact the Red Dragons fought back from 2-0 down to claim a superb opening day vIctory at The Renewable Centre Stadium.
While the visitors produced some fine first half play, they somehow found themselves two behind to goals from Jade Crofts after six minutes and Megan Kearle with 32 on the clock.
Fair to say both goals were avoidable from a Wrexham point of view.
However, something very special got the North Wales side right back in the contest in first half injury time.
New midfielder Mariam Mahmood showed lovely footwork on the ball before lashing an absolute thunderbolt into the net from at least 30 yards.
It was just the boost Wrexham needed to inspire them to go on and dominate the second half.
Within 10 minutes after the restart, the visitors were ahead.
Ava Suckley flicked home a header from a brilliant corner via Carra Jones and on 55 minutes lively forward Katie Barker lashed in a cracker from 20 yards.
Liz Craven saved well from a free kick to keep Wrexham in front, then on 79 minutes Mahmood worked brilliantly down the right before drilling in a low cross and sub Rosie Hughes could not miss from two yards.
Another excellent flag-kick delivery from Carra Jones enabled Natalie Clark to add a fifth with 82 gone.
Great result and two words for the Wrexham support on the day – absolutely magnificent.
