WEDNESDAY: North East Wales League reports – wins for Coedpoeth and Holywell United

Coedpoeth are the early Division One leaders after maintaining their 100 percent record with a 2-1 success at Casty.

Ben Griffiths gave Coedy the lead a minute before half time, Kieran Marks with the assist.

Seven minutes into the second half, the visitors doubled their advantage when Callum Roberts found the net, Jack Massey the chance supplier.

Daniel Woosey pulled one back just before the halur but there were no further goals.

NEWFA Division 2

Holywell United 5 (Marley 24, Durkin 33 pen, 90+9, Bradley 81, Edwards 90 +3)

Three late goals at Gwernymynydd earned Holywell United their first league win.

Owen Marley struck first for the visitors on 24 minutes, Taylor Morris levelled after 31 but Kieran Durkin soon made it 2-1 to United.

Aaron North made it all-square again three minutes before the interval to set up an interesting second period.

It stayed two-apiece until the 81st minute when Luis Rowland set up Ryan Bradley to restore the Holywell lead.

Entering injury time, the outcome was still in doubt until Jack Edwards made it 4-2 in the 93rd minute, sub Jack Swinnerton with the assist.

And the points were totally sealed in the ninth minute of added time when Durkin scored from the penalty spot.
