Y Morfa Leisure Centre – August 17, 2025

Kinmel Bay edged past Denbigh Town in a pulsating Challenge Cup clash at Y Morfa Leisure Centre after a seven-goal thriller.
The home side made a dream start, taking the lead inside the first minute when Lexi Walsh slotted home following good work from Amy Chesters.
On the half-hour mark, last season’s top-scorer Chesters doubled the advantage, finishing well after being set up by Elin Jones.
Denbigh hit back quickly, with Lowri Claybrook finding the net in the 34th minute to halve the deficit.
The second half was full of drama. In the 54th minute, Chesters struck again, bagging her second of the afternoon thanks to an assist from Baileigh Aaron.

Kinmel Bay quickly restored breathing space in the 56th minute, when Seren Williams delivered a superb free-kick that flew into the net to make it 4–2.
Denbigh refused to give up, and in the 87th minute they set up a tense finale as Amber Hellon tucked away a chance created by Claybrook, reducing the arrears to one again
Despite the late surge, Bay held on to claim the victory and secure their place in the next round.
It was a fiercely contested tie, with both teams showing attacking flair and determination, but Kinmel Bay’s clinical finishing proved the difference.

Kinmel Bay now face CPDM Llanystumdwy in the semis on August 31.
