Llangefni Town Ladies announce major new signing!

Experienced midfield ace Cerys Gadd has joined Llangefni Town for the 2025-26 campaign.

The 36-year-old lands at Cae Bob Parry after spending the last six seasons at Amlwch Town.

She strengthens a Cefni squad also boosted by the arrivals of goalkeeper Mia Gleave, defenders Cara Aston and Carys Lock, plus attacking midfielders Lowri Thomas and Jordan Roberts this summer.

After starting off with Bangor City Girls in 2003/04, Cerys moved on to Caernarfon Town, who she represented in the English pyramid competition, the Northern Combination.

The Cofis joined the Welsh system in 2008 and went on to dominate the North Wales scene.

Cerys was part of the squad crowned Welsh Premier Women’s League North Conference champions in 2009-10 and 2010-11 and celebrated back-to-back doubles by also lifting the league cup twice.

They lost twice to Swansea City in the Women’s Welsh Premiership championship final and also went down to the Swans in the Welsh Cup Final of 2010-11.

Cerys went on to have her first spell at Amlwch Town before renewing past associations with Bangor City.

With the experience of Cerys in the middle, Bangor went on to have a really encouraging 2017-18 season in the North Wales Women’s League, but unfortunately were forced to disband at the end of the campaign.

In 2018-19, Cerys rejoined an Amlwch Town side which really flourished., that season winning their first trophy, the Supplementary Cup, beating Wrexham 2-1 in the final at Rhyl where Cerys was on the scoresheet.

Then came the shortened 2019-20 campaign which delivered a first championship success for the club, Amlwch finishing top of North Wales Women’s League Division Two with Cerys scoring 12 goals.

Cerys was also a key member of the Ynys Môn team which reached the final of the 2019 Inter-Island Games.

Anglesey’s women had won just one match in previous tournaments, but on their home island they advanced all the way to the showpiece, where they gallantly lost 2-1 to Isle of Man.

Cerys also featured in the Môn squad which shone in the 2023 Island Games. scoring the 90th minute winner against Jersey which clinched fifth place.

Strong and dominant in the midfield, Cerys brings exquisite passing ability and a gift for scoring long distance goals, as well as being a constant danger from dead-ball situations.
