FEATURE: Another 20 transfers from the North Wales football pre-season to date

Here’s another batch of new signings announced by North Wales clubs this summer.
Thanks to all clubs who helped with photos and information.
1 Gary Roberts (to Corwen)
Ardal North East side Corwen is believed to be 18th senior club Gary Roberts has represented in a long career which has seen him play in the EFL Championship, League One and League Two.
Chester-born Roberts, 38, began his career with Crewe Alexandra, where he made 133 league and cup appearances over five years,
The club was in the old First Division (second-tier) when Roberts debuted in 2003-04 before it became known as the Championship in 2004-05.
Roberts also turned out for the Alex in League One, where he also later played for Yeovil Town, and wore Rotherham United and Port Vale’s colours in League Two.
He made 168 Football League appearances in total, netting 17 goals.
Two seasons with Mansfield Town in the Conference Premier/National followed between 2011-13, then came stints with Floriana and Mosta in the Maltese Premier League, as well as Connah’s Quay Nomads and Bangor City in the Welsh Premier.

Other clubs Roberts has represented include Witton Albion, Southport, Chester, Blacon Youth Club, Congleton Town and Runcorn Town before he made a surprise return to the Welsh system with Flint Mountain, newly-promoted to Tier 3 Ardal North West, in 2022-23.
His last team was Waggon and Horses of the Chester and Wirral Football League.
Often described as a ‘gifted, deep-lying playmaker’, Roberts’ football career has been plagued by off-the-field problems. On best form, he is a class footballer.
2 Oli Gray (Kinmel Bay to Rhos United)

Excellent signing for Rhos as they aim to build a squad capable of making an impact in tier 4 this season.
Oli, 21, has spent the last four seasons at Kinmel Bay, where he is best known for scoring the winner in the 2023-24 Cookson Cup final.
Formerly with Prestatyn Town Under-16s, he made his debut for Kinmel Bay at the start of 2021-22.
He chalked up 89 first team appearances for Bay, netting 17 goals, and featured in 18 games for the Development side, scoring twice.
3 Nathan Williams (Porthmadog to Holyhead Hotspur)

Eye-catching signing for Hotspur, whom he joins after three impressive seasons at Porthmadog.
Made 98 appearances for Port, his final game resulting in a 3-1 victory against….Holyhead Hotspur.
Williams landed at Y Traeth from Conwy Borough in July 2022. Quickly established himself as a key performer in the Port defence, earning him the Manager’s Player of the Season Award for 2022/23.
A versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back four, also chipping in with important set piece goals. Previously represented Caernarfon Town and CPD Llanberis.
4 Guto Williams (Colwyn Bay to Holywell Town)

Has Cymru Premier experience with Colwyn Bay and Cardiff Met, as well as representing Llandudno in the Cymru North.
Won Cymru North title with Bay in 2022-23, but suffered a complete Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear and slight Meniscus damage in October 2023 and missed most of the Cymru Premier campaign, after featuring in the Seagulls’ first eight matches.
On signing Williams, Holywell said:: “Composed, versatile and comfortable in both defence and midfield, Guto adds depth and balance to the squad as we gear up for the new season.”
5 Dominic Smith (Newtown to Caernarfon Town)

Defender, aged 29, who began his career at Shrewsbury Town where he made 31 first team appearances before going out on loan to Tamworth, Barrow and Southport.
Signed for AFC Telford United in 2018-19, then spent four seasons with Alfreton before joining Newtown in 2023, where he played for the last two campaigns.
Although born in Shropshire, he qualifies for Cymru through his grandmother and is a Wales Under-19 and U21 international.
6 Alistair Macaulay (Kinmel Bay to Rhos United)

Young goalkeeper with plenty of first team experience from spells with CPD Gronant, Prestatyn Wanderers, Denbigh Town Reserves and Kinmel Bay Development.
Played twice for Kinmel Bay’s first team last season, winning high plaudits for his man of the match display in the 3-1 Cookson Cup semi-final victory over Llandudno Junction.
7 Osebi Abadaki (Bala Town to Caernarfon Town)

Forward/winger signs for Caernarfon after spending the past two seasons at Cymru Premier club Bala, where he made 74 appearances and notched eight goals.
This much-travelled 34-year-old has played for many clubs in the English pyramid, including Guiseley, Stalybridge, Matlock, Ashton United, Stourbridge, Buxton, Stafford, Hednesford, Nantwich Town and Altrincham.
8 Ashley Seddon (Bow to Rhos United)

Lands at Rhos from Bow, whom he joined in January 2023 and scored twice on his debut in a 4-1 victory at CPD Henllan.
Made 42 appearances in total for Bow over two-and-a-half-seasons, netting seven goals.
Aged 28, Ashley has an impressive background having played for Colwyn Bay and Prestatyn Town in the Cymru North, plus Llanrwst United in Ardal North West, as well as Glan Conwy in tiers 3 and 4.
9 Cameron Berry (Kinmel Bay to Rhos United)

Eighteen-year-old who started off at the Colwyn Bay Academy before going on to play for CPD Gronant and Rhuddlan Town before joining Kinmel Bay last season.
Featured mainly for Bay’s Development side, scoring nine times in 21 matches, but also gained some minutes with the first team.
Now he joins Rhos, who say: “Cam brings the perfect mix of youth and first-team experience — just the kind of player we’re building around. We can’t wait to see him thrive in the squad and show what he’s made of.”
10 Tyler Oakley-Evans (Kinmel Bay to Rhos United)

Similarly to Oli Gray, Tyler joins Rhos from Kinmel Bay, where played for four seasons, making his debut in 2021-22.
He featured in 56 first team games for Bay, mostly as a substitute in the past couple of seasons, and was more of a regular for the Development side, making 60 appearances in all and scoring four goals.
A young and aggressive defender, Tyler will be working hard to make a big impression at Rhos.
11 Myles Jones (Caergybi to Holyhead Town)

Well-travelled 30-year-old midfielder whose signing is seen as a massive coup by Holyhead Town, with reported interest from higher-tier teams.
Last season, Myles turned out for Caergybi and Gwalchmai, while in 2022-23 and 2023-24 he was key in Trearddur Bay winning the North Wales Coast West Premier and Division One titles.
Has also had spells with Holyhead Hotspur, Llangefni Town and Bodedern Athletic as well as earlier stints with Caergybi and Holyhead Town.
12 Ryan Kershaw (Flint Mountain to FC Queen’s Park)

Top class midfielder with Cymru Premier experience at Cefn Druids, whom he also represented in Europe.
Was in the Cefn Albion side which reached the Ardal Northern promotion play-off final in 2022-23, losing out to Bangor 1876.
Started 2023-24 at Denbigh Town before signing for Flint Mountain in the January of that season, helping them win the Tier 3 Ardal North West title.
Was a regular for Mountain in their debut Cymru North season, where they finished seventh.
13 Joe Faux (Caernarfon Town to Flint Town United)

Has 139 Cymru Premier appearances under his belt from spells at Caernarfon Town and Cefn Druids.
Faux, 28, is a tricky wide player of dual Australian and Romanian citizenship. He started out playing for Bolton U23’s in the UK, before moving on to West Didsbury and Prescot Cables. He first entered the Welsh footballing system in July 2019, when he signed for Druids.
14 Callum Murphy (St Asaph City to Mold Alex)
Hard-working, versatile defender who previously worked with Alex manager Barry Owen at St Asaph.
Owen is confident he has signed a strong, reliable player whose commitment is second to none.
15 Aaron Williams (Newtown to Colwyn Bay)

Williams has spent the last four seasons at Newtown since joining from Telford United, scoring 78 goals in 143 appearances for The Robins and featuring for the club in Europe.
The 31-year-old began hjs career at Walsall, where he made six league appearances for the Saddlers.
He then played for Worcester City, Rushall Olympic, Nuneaton (two spells) as well as stints with Peterborough United and Newport County in the Football League.
The England C International was part of the Brackley Town team which won the FA Trophy at Wembley in 2018 before a season at Harrogate Town.
16 Henry Green (Llay Welfare to Mold Alex)
Nineteen-year-old goalkeeper who emerged through The New Saints Academy system before last season having a spell with Cardiff Met University and then joining Llay Welfare in their Cymru North debut campaign, making 13 league appearances.
Young, ambitious and technically outstanding keeper.
17 Kieran Smith (to Llandudno)

Best known for his 11 years at Bala Town where he won the Welsh Cup, made more than 300 competitive appearances and featured in 16 European matches.
Great signing for Llandudno, who know they are getting an attack-minded player of proven quality with a great attitude.
18 Aeron Edwards (Bala Town to Colwyn Bay)

A 10-time Cymru Premier winner and Cymru C International, Aeron has spent the last two seasons with Bala Town.
Midfield schemer who began his career with Brickfield Rangers and had spells at Buckley Town and Caersws before a move to The New Saints in 2009.
He spent 11 and a half years with Saints, winning the Cymru Premier nine times as well as numerous Welsh Cup and Welsh League Cup triumphs.
The 37-year-old also has vast European experience from his time at Park Hall.
Joined Connah’s Quay Nomads in summer 2020 and during his first season on Deeside won the Cymru Premier title, his 10th in total.
He also won the Nathaniel MG Cup in 2022 in his three seasons with Nomads, where he played alongside current Bay managers Mike Wilde and Danny Harrison.
19 Jerome Sillence (Caergybi to Holyhead Town)

Forward who joins the Harbourmen on the back of a great season with Caergybi, for whom he scored in a 2-0 Menai Tractor Cup final against Llangoed last month.
He also netted 12 goals in seven North Wales Coast West Division One league games.
Former clubs include Valley, where he bagged 25 goals in 2015-16 and scored 13 for 2017-18 Anglesey League title winners Bryngwran Bulls.
Reliable goal-getter whose other ex-teams include Llannerchymedd.
20 Jordan Williams (Flint Mountain to FC Queen’s Park)

Was an early 2024-25 signing for Flint Mountain as they embarked on what turned out to be an encouraging first season in JD Cymru North.
Left-back, aged 25, who previously spent a number of seasons with Cefn Albion.
