Prestatyn Town has shed some light on why it has been refused a Tier 3 licence by the FAW.
And the club is confident it can rectify the issue and compete in Ardal North West next season.
Relegated from Tier 2 Cymru North this season and having a T2 licence request rejected, the Seasiders suffered another blow yesterday when the FAW Men’s Tier 3 First Instance Body turned down its application for a Tier 3 certificate, citing an infrastructure problem as the reason.
The club has 10 days in which to appeal and secretary Chris Dean released the following statement on social media this evening: “Just a quick message to everyone to let you know the only reason we have failed our Tier 2 and 3 license is simply because we want to use our floodlights for games.
“A new 96 point test is needed. The current certificate provided to the FAW is seemingly not sufficient.
“As you loyal supporters know, our floodlights are one of the strongest in the tier.
“This will be rectified and a new certificate supplied to the FAW before the deadline.”
