Fab 15 – the final verdicts….

Taylia Chaloner (left) has been one of North Wales football’s stars of the season

Earlier in the season, we chose 15 players to watch in North Wales senior women’s football during 2024-25.

Let’s assess how they’ve done.

1 Taylia Chaloner (Flint Town United)

Flint’s manager commented recently that Taylia has gone beneath the radar this season.

I strongly disagree. Taylia has been firmly on Grassroots North Wales’ radar since the first ball was kicked.

She was chosen as one of our Fab 15 for a reason – she was outstanding last season and we were expecting her to shine in Tier 2 this term.

We were correct. Taylia has been outstanding in her role as an attack-minded right-back all season.

We’ve regularly picked her as a Player of the Match and she has consistently won high praise from other teams. She has also featured in a Genero Adran Leagues Team of the Week.

We’d describe her as one of the players of the season in North Wales football.

Under the radar? Certainly not ours. Perhaps the manager doesn’t read our website.

Well done Tay, a true star of 2024-25.

2 Rosie O’Brien (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

A dazzling season for Rosie, who works so hard in every game and never stops running.

Both in attack and in defence, she oozes class and has been by far one of Rhyl’s most consistent players.

3 Natasha Spearing (Connah’s Quay Nomads)

Every Nomads player was a star in 2024-25, it was very much a team and squad effort which delivered them the Adran North title with a magnificent 14 straight wins.

Natasha typified the work ethic of the team in midfield, producing a string of impressive performances.

One of Jordan Parry’s best signings of the 2024-25 close season.

4 Beth Roberts (CPD Merched Henllan)

Words alone cannot describe what sort of a first season in senior football this 16-year-old sensation has had.

A remarkable 52 goals in 18 appearances for a Henllan team which challenged for the East Division title most of the campaign and reached the Betty Pickering Shield final.

In 11 league matches, she has scored 43 goals – top East markswoman by a mile.

Beth was also part of the Ysgol Glan Clwyd team which won the Welsh Schools Under-18 Cup for a third time in four years.

A true Goalden Girl.

5 Laura Pratt (Airbus UK Broughton)

Twenty-five goals for this 17-year-old prospect who has been a true standout performer in Tier 3.

Pace up front has made her a major asset to the Airbus attack. One to watch going forward.

6 Catrin Roberts (CPDM Bangor)

Superb first season in senior football for this 16-year-old keeper.

A Wales Under-16 international who represented the FAW Girls Academy North last season, Catrin has been selected for the 2025 Ynys Môn Island Games squad.

We have many quality young keepers in North Wales – Catrin is among the finest.

7 Ruby Hastings (Flint Town United)

What a great first season in Tier 2 for this right-wing wizardess.

Her pace, assists and goalscoring have made her a true class act in Adran North.

The quality of her goals has been outstanding too.

8 Amy Chesters (Kinmel Bay)

There’s been no stopping Amy this season.

Scorer of a tremendous 25 goals so far, she has been central to Kinmel Bay’s fantastic progress in the North East Wales League West Division.

Never stops working for the team and her natural finishing ability makes her one of the best at her level.

9 Llywela Edwards (CPDM Y Felinheli)

Double-figure merchant in the goals stakes in her debut season with Felinheli.

Has helped the Cae Seilo side finish third in Adran North as well as reach two cup finals.

Left-sided magician who scored arguably North Wales’ goal of the season – a rocket against Llandudno.

10 Amber Brown (Llangefni Town)

Quality young attacking player who joined Llangefni from Caernarfon Town last December.

A stand out for the Canaries, she is developing well for her new club, which finished runners-up in the North East Wales League West Division and reached the Betty Pickering Cup Final.

11 Jess Woods (Trearddur Bay)

Brilliant addition for Trearddur Bay this season, scoring a very impressive 13 goals.

Has been very much a key part of Bay’s improvement in 2024-25, which has only been halted at times by a disruptive fixture list.

12 Isabella Nardo (Northop Hall)

Young defender who has been a regular for North Wales Women’s League East Division side Hall this season.

Still a teenager, her best years are still to come.

13 Abi Cooke (Denbigh Town)

Ever-improving young defender who impressed for Denbigh in the first half of the season.

14 Annest Roberts (CPDM Llanystumdwy)

Teenage midfielder who has established herself nicely in a Llanystumdwy team which has improved vastly this season.

Definitely one for the future, highly regarded at the club.

15 Katie Spruce (Llangefni Town)

Turned out to be an excellent signing for Llangefni Town.

Made 22 appearances over the season and the fact Cefni conceded just 12 league goals – the lowest total in the North East Wales West Division – speaks volumes about Katie’s performances.
