Just four games in the NWCFA Development League on Sunday, but goals galore!
An 11-goal thriller was settled by a 91st minute penalty from Llanrug’s Joshua Evans.
Osian Neary struck twice in the opening 15 minutes for the visitors, but Joseph Smith replied and it became 2-2 through Jamie Williams before Elis Edwards edged the Caernarfon area team back in front just before the break.
Josh Lally levelled it just four minutes into the second period, Cian Newell made it 4-3 United, but Smith hit back on 66 to restore parity.
Edwards nudged Llanrug back into the lead after 68, but Smith completed his hat-trick on 70 to make this end-to-end encounter five-apiece.
Both teams went for the winner, but it was that spot-kick a minute into added time which won it for the away side.
Captain Steve Gilmour notched a hat-trick for a Sports side which ran up double figures in this town derby at Ffordd Las.
Eben Morris (2), Toby Jones (2, 1 pen), Ashley Castle, Alex Garrett and Noel Jones shared the other goals for the visitors, Dougie Lonsdale and Saeed Jones getting Wanderers on the scoresheet.
Goals from Noa Griffith, Tristan Harrison, Luke Allaway and sub Ellis Picot saw Nefyn safely through to the next round.
Vale manager Jamie Owen and goalkeeper Iwan Tindall were both shown red cards.
Sub Tomos Pritchard (2, 1 pen) and Cai Tate supplied the goals which ensured Pwllheli advanced in the cup.
Lewis Roberts scored for Henllan to make it 1-1 and force extra time. In the added 30 minutes, Pritchard struck twice on 92 and 98.
