Undoubtedly the toughest decision yet faced us in choosing the Grassroots North Wales Club of the Month for March.
We came up with 13 contenders who would all have been worthy winners – and there might have been more.
In the end, after much deliberation, we went for Dolgellau Amateur Athletic FC, current leaders of the tier 3 Ardal North East League.
While everyone around them in the ANE slipped up at one time or another in the highly competitive league during March, Dolgellau stayed strong and recorded four straight wins.
Robert Evans’ side won away at Rhos Aelwyd, Llangollen Town and Kerry before hammering Cefn Albion 7-0 at Cae Marian on Saturday.
Such has been their outstanding consistency during March, Dolgellau are now major contenders for the title, although Brickfield Rangers and Llanuwchllyn below them have three games in hand apiece.
It is great to give a fine club like Dolgellau some well-deserved recognition. Good luck to them for the end-of-season run-in.
