Seven matches unbeaten for a Felinheli side yet to taste defeat in 2025.
Today’s win lifted Aaron Jones-Evans team up to third in Genero Adran North with a second-place finish still an outside possibility.
Felinheli entered Sunday’s derby off the back of a stunning win at Connah’s Quay to book their place in the NEWFA Cup Final.
Confidence was high even with a handful of important players missing, including goalkeeper Catrin Beech with Sioned Williams taking her place.
Felinheli sped out of the blocks with a point to prove, putting relentless pressure on Bangor’s back-four.
The deadlock was broken in the seventh minute when Alaw Huws exchanged some neat football with Llywela Edwards down the left and squared to Fflur Williams, who made no mistake with her finish.
It wasn’t long before Felinheli were two-up, this time through Ellie Jones who scored a contender for goal of the season with a screamer from all of 25 yards plus out,
Fflur Williams provided the assist this time, squaring to Jones who unleashed a rocket into the roof of the net with onlookers wondering what had just happened,
Bangor were struggling to keep up with the pace and on 17 minutes it was three, Edwards fizzing the ball across the box from the left for Jenna Tugwell-Allsup to finish in the roof of the net.
On 19 minutes Felin made it 4-0 with Tugwell-Allsup turning assist-maker for the in form Alaw Huws to apply the finish.
Just a minute later Felin had a fifth, Tugwell-Allsup setting up Fflur Williams, who again found the roof of the net.
Bangor did show glimpses of the quality they have, most of their good work coming through Menna Evans and Mia Roberts.
Chances went begging for Felin and also a one-on-one was missed by Evans for Bangor.
On the half-hour, the visitors conceded a penalty. Hana Wellings stepped up for Felin, who saw her first attempt saved but goalkeeper Catrin Roberts was adjudged to have stepped off her line. A retake was awarded, but Wellings again was unsuccessful with her effort coming back off the post.
With 44 gone, Bangor were given a lifeline when Edwards stood on the ball in her own box and lost her balance with Menna Evans pouncing to make it 5-1.
Second half started brightly for both sides but it soon turned into a scrappy affair – Felin comfortable but Bangor chasing.
The home manager made two subs in the 65th minute with Elsi Williams and Rubie Davies coming on for Sara Baines and Edwards.
Bangor seemed to get some control of the game in the final quarter with some tired legs on a very heavy pitch playing its part, but it was Felinheli who got the next goal through a penalty won by Tugwell-Allsup and converted by Fflur Williams for her hat-trick in the 79th minute.
Bangor did pull one back before the end with Cerys Parry slotting home from a good ball via a free kick in the 88th minute.
However, it was Felinheli who got the last say with Rubie Davies converting yet another penalty in the 99th minute.
A well deserved win for Felinheli, who carry on their good run this year and even though the scoreline was wide Bangor never gave up and defended really well at times.
Winning manager Aaron Jones-Evans said: “Again, very happy with the win today, it seems like momentum is with us at the moment, but we need to keep working, keep our heads down and just really concentrate on this run-in now.
“I’ve said it before, we will only concentrate on what’s next, today has been, we move on and go onto the next. One game at a time.
“Super proud of this team – they’ve come a long way since the start of the season and that’s down to the work that they’ve put in. They deserve the plaudits they have been getting over the last couple of months.”
