Relentless Rhos hit a magnificent seven to move six points clear at the Division One pinnacle.
From the get-go, the visitors were unstinting, and in the 15th minute, Phemmy Allison sent a delightful ball to Adam Williams, who let loose a thunderous strike. The ball deflected off a defender, wrong-footing the keeper and soaring into the net to give Rhos a 1-0 lead.
Minutes later, it was 2-0, and what a goal it was! Mike Chapman launched a rocket from just outside the half which flew past the keeper.
United were moving the ball seamlessly from defence through midfield, where Chris King and Richard Hill pulled the strings.
In the 28th minute, Chapman whipped in a flag-kick which was only cleared as far as King, who rose high and nodded the ball into the top corner.
Lewis Sealey then embarked on a dazzling run before being fouled 40 yards from goal. He smashed the ball at the keeper, forcing a great save, but Chapman was there to pounce on the rebound.
Alex Stokes made it five, and just before the break, Williams delivered a pinpoint corner, and Chapman headed home for his hat-trick.
Although the goals did not flow as freely in the second half, Rhos continued to dominate.
Allison narrowly missed the target before Billy Bibby’s curling strike looked destined for the top corner, but the keeper Gareth Hastie made a remarkable save to deny him.
With the game ticking down, Prestatyn earned a penalty, but keeper Richard Hillier-Evans stood tall, guessing right, and making a stunning save to preserve his clean sheet.
Rhos were more successful from the spot when Scott Court converted one late on,
Henllan earned themselves a semi-final against Rhos United by edging past Sports on penalties.
Goals from Efan Davies and Will Clayton handed Henllan a 2-0 interval lead.
Steffan Jones made it three from the spot on 78 minutes and it looked like tie over, but Prestatyn produced a dramatic comeback.
Sub Toby Jones scored twice and five minutes past the 90, Kris Owen forced extra time by making it 3-3. Sports were down to 10 men by this stage.
Into the added half hour, Daniel Lewis put Henllan 4-3 up on 103, but Gareth Walsh levelled in first period stoppage time.
No further goals so a shootout was needed. Despite missing twice Henllan progressed as Sports failed with three kicks.
Ben Kelbrick’s 11th minute goal and a Gabriel George strike on 67 put Penrhyn Bay into the last four where a meeting with Rhyl Albion awaits.
Joshua Jones and Sam Jones (pen) provided the goals which ensured Albion’s progress, Jake Carey replying for Swifts.
The home side had sub Keiran Kendrick sent off for a second yellow after 94.
Bay fought back from two goals down to force a draw with Premier leaders Y Glannau.
The visitors were two up at the break after Steve Kirk and Joey Fontana found the net.
Jacob Jones halved the deficit soon after the restart, then Mason Richards levelled after 64.
No winner could be found.
Kinmel captain Mathew Beach suffered a foot fracture likely to keep him out for between 4 to 6 weeks.
Bay have re-signed striker Ben Cawley and Matthew Bennett has also joined from Greenfield.
Junction trailed to a 28th minute Harry Parkes-Smith goal, but a second half double from Dan Roberts turned the tables.
Tomos Watkin-Jones (3, 1 pen), Iorwerth Jones (2), Tirion Griffiths, Alfie Harrison and Tomos Tryfan Jones guided Cerrig to a big win at Cae Nant, Rob Hurst and Alex Williams responding.
Hurst was dismissed on 83 for a second yellow card.
New signing Ollie Buckley scored on debut for Meliden, who sparkled at The Mine with other goals supplied by Finlay Ellam, Finley Newell and sub Macaulay Ross.
Sub Tyler Russell-Jones notched a consolation for the Amateurs.
Another great result for improving Llansannan, Lewys Jones bagging the decider on the hour.
Phoenix put aside the disappointment of a 16th minute red card for Ben Jarvis and a Daniel Williams missed penalty on 25 to defeat Glan Conwy and edge to within three points of leaders Y Glannau with five games in hand.
Adam Hold was a hat-trick hero for the hosts, Ricky Jones adding a fourth home goal in added time.
Man of the match for Pen was Scott McGoona.
