Seven goals in four ties – no wonder Flint Town United ace Jennifer Haynes was chosen for the Genero Adran Trophy Team of the Competition!
Jennifer was one of only two North Walians selected for the elite XI, the other being Olivia Fuller of Wrexham – and the sole Tier 2 player to feature!
This tournament had the Flint player’s name on it from the start.
In qualifying group 2, she scored twice in a 4-3 win over Llanfair United, netted a beautiful opener in a 3-1 victory at CPD Y Rhyl 1879, then bagged a hat-trick as the Silkwomen trounced CPDM Y Felinheli 9-3 to finish top of the standings.
The 23-year-old then scored in the round of 16 where Flint went down heroically 4-2 against Adran Premier club Barry Town United, who needed two late goals to clinch the tie.
This meant Jennifer had scored in each of the ties she competed in, notching seven goals in four matches.
She was top scorer of the group stages with six goals and joint leading markswoman in the whole tournament on seven alongside Jade Crofts of Cwmbran Celtic.
Jennifer joined Flint in March 2023 from Connah’s Quay Nomads. She has netted 15 goals in 39 appearances for the Silkies, with whom she won the North Wales East Division title last season.
