Wilson captured the Ray Reardon Trophy last season, beating Martin O’Donnell in the final at Venue Cymru in Llandudno on the beautiful North Wales coast.

This time the event runs from February 10-16 and it’s a superb field including the likes of World Champion Kyren Wilson, John Higgins, Mark Allen, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy, Neil Robertson, Luca Brecel and Wales’ top player Mark Williams.

The match schedule will be announced after the qualifying rounds which run from February 4-6.

It’s the fourth and final event in the 2024/25 BetVictor Home Nations Series, with a £150,000 bonus up for grabs for the player who finishes top of the BetVictor Rankings. Robertson currently leads that race, with Kyren Wilson among those in hot pursuit.

It’s also the last counting event in the race to qualify for the World Grand Prix, with only the top 32 on the one-year list to earn a place in Hong Kong in March. So it’s all to play for in Llandudno, alongside the battle for a world ranking title which has been contested every year since 1992.

The BetVictor Welsh Open will be televised by BBC Wales, Eurosport, discovery+, CCTV5, WST Play and many other broadcasters worldwide.
