Fflur y Fflam reaches big 50 for Y Felinheli

Fflur Williams has reached the 50-goal mark for CPDM Y Felinheli.

The 23-year-old striker’s latest net-finder came in Wednesday night’s impressive 1-1 draw at Llandudno, who needed a 99th minute Jasmin Dutton penalty to salvage a point.

Fflur signed for Felinheli in February 2020, just before the season was halted prematurely due to Covid.

However, before fixtures ceased, Fflur did score on her debut for the Cae Seilo side in a 7-1 NEWFA Challenge Cup semi-final success against Wrexham.

With the 2020-21 campaign scrapped because of the pandemic, Fflur recommitted to Felinheli at the start of 2021-22.

She scored back-to-back five-goal hauls in massive consecutive wins over Denbigh Town and netted 23 in total in her debut season.

Fflur hit another 10 goals for the all-reds in 2022-23 and was part of the team which beat her old club Llandudno 3-2 in the NWCFA Challenge Cup final.

Another 13 goals were added in 2023-24, Fflur scoring hat-tricks against CPDM Bangor and Llanfair United as Felin retained the NWCFA Cup.

When Fflur scored her second goal in Felinheli’s 4-3 Welsh Cup win at Kinmel Bay in October, it was her 50th goal in all competitions for the Cae Seilo outfit.

She has since netted against Airbus, Flint, Northop Hall and Llandudno to reach 54 in all for the club in 72 league and cup appearances.

The daughter of the legendary Euryn Williams, who scored 683 career goals, mostly for CPD Bro Cernyw, Fflur is a speedy, attacking player who was a prolific net-machine in junior football.

She once scored all seven goals in a 7-1 win against Bangor for Llandudno under 14’s, and bagged 60 goals in a season for Tudno under 16’s.

One of the biggest highlights of her career was representing Wales Under-17s against Northern Ireland.

As a senior, she has turned out for Cardiff City Ladies in the English pyramid, as well as Llandudno Ladies in the Welsh Premier before making Felinheli her club in 2020.

She is now in her fifth season with Aaron Jones-Evans’ side.
