Lois Thomas and Jini Owen Hughes both scored hat-tricks as Pwllheli got their Betty Pickering Cup campaign off to a winning start.
Hughes boosted her goals total for the season to 11, while Thomas is now on nine.
Last season was Hughes’ first in senior football and the 18-year-old bagged a magnificent 21 goals as Pwllheli won the West Division title and were crowned overall North Wales League champions after defeating Flint Town United in the play-off final.
Thomas, 25, who scored a magnificent winner in the above final, has now netted 107 recorded goals since her Pwllheli debut in 2016-17, but the actual figure is thought to be more than 150, with totals not available for 2016-17 and 2018-19, when she was club top-scorer each time.
Today’s game at The Rec saw Thomas strike first in the second minute from an Owen Hughes assist.
Owen Hughes doubled the lead on five, then Thomas set up Bess Roberts for number three with just 16 minutes on the clock.
Thomas completed her hat-trick by half time, Roberts and Leanne Hughes with the assists, and Owen Hughes made it a double, captain Magi Hughes setting up the goal.
The second half was a much quieter affair goalwise, Owen Hughes making it 7-0 on 53 minutes with her third of the day.
