CPD Pwllheli Women make it six trophies in three seasons!

Yet another trophy for Pwllheli. Llun: CPD PWLLHELI – diolch

NWC KIA WOMEN’S LEAGUE CUP FINAL – MARCH 29, 2026
NFA 2 (L Jones 2)
CPD Pwllheli 4 (L Thomas 2, J Owen Hughes 2)

Pwllheli just cannot stop winning trophies!

The Queens of the Llŷn added more silverware to their collection when they lifted the North Wales Coast Women’s League Cup on Sunday.

That made it SIX trophies in THREE seasons for the white and blacks.

It proved a tough task for Erica Jones’ side against Rhyl-based NFA, but two goals apiece from the dynamic Lois Thomas and Jini Owen Hughes saw them home.

Parc Meurig, Bethesda, was the venue for the first league cup final staged by the Coast since women’s football in North Wales was revamped at the start of this season.

It was a high tempo final from the start, with Pwllheli dominating the first 20.

In the third minute, Pwll took the lead when Sian Moore fed Stacey Sansome, whose cracking through ball was finished off by Lois Thomas at the back post.

Jini Owen Hughes made it two with a screamer, an inswinging strike from outside the 18-yard box into the top corner.

A 10th goal of the season for Jini Owen Hughes from a left-foot free kick fumbled into the net by keeper Courtney Ingram put the Llŷn girls three-up.

NFA hit back through a Loz Jones double – the first seeing her latch onto a long clearance from the back and finish one-on-one with keeper Sara Williams. The second came via a corner.

Pwllheli made it 4-2 after Lois Thomas took advantage of an NFA error to dribble into the box and score with a deflected shot – her 13th goal of 2025-26.

NFA pushed hard in the second half, but the Pwllheli defence was outstanding.
